Police of Jenin Governorate visit the University

A Delegation from the Palestinian Police visits the University, aiming to enhance mutual cooperation. The delegation was welcomed by the VP of Training Affairs Dr. Nizam Diab and the VP of Administration & Financial Affairs Eng. Bara Asfour.

The delegation included the police director of Jenin Chief Colonel Nadi Halahleh, Director of Academic Affairs at the Police General Directorate Col. Mansur Khuzaimia, Jenin Traffic Director Colonel Majdi Darwish, Police PR Manager Lieutenant Colonel Aws Atiyani and Police Operation Director Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Al-Susih.

The University’s President welcomed the Director of the Preventive Security Service in Jenin

The President of the University Prof. Ali Zedan Abu Zuhri, welcomed the Director of the Preventive Security Service in Jenin Governorate, Brigadier General Muhannad Abu Ali and his accompanying delegation. To discuss ways of enhancing security and safety services in the university.

Prof. Abu Zuhri praised the role played by the security services in general and the Preventive Security in particular in providing safety and security services, stressing the importance of cooperation between the two parties.

For his part, Brig. Gen. Muhannad Abu Ali, praised the cooperation with the university, pointing out that the preventive security is continuously enhancing security in the region and controlling crisis management.

The representative of Mexico in Palestine visits the University

The President of the University, Prof. Ali Zedan  Abu zahri, welcomed the representative of Mexico in Palestine, Dr. Pedro Blanco, with the presence of  the VP for International Relations Dr. Dalal Erekat.

Prof. during the visit gave a brief introduction about the university, its establishment and academic programs offered in PhD, MA and BA degrees. Adding the University always seeks to develop and achieve its objects regarding academic development, scientific research, local community services, assuring to the importance of strengthening its relations with Arab and international educational institutions and research centers.

Collaboration agreement between Arab American University and Okayama University, Japan

The Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University, Dr. Shukri Mustafa, signed a collaboration agreement with the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Okayama University, Japan, Prof. Gunsh Asumi. This agreement aims to build bilateral relations and enhancing many activities various areas.

The two sides agreed on academic and student exchanges, conducting cooperative research, cultural and educational programs as well as scientific research exchange. The two sides also discussed the establishment of specific way to implement cooperative activities between the two Universities.

The Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University, Dr. Shukri Mustafa stressed the importance of the agreement with the Japanese University, where the University seeks to create many partnerships and cooperation with regional and international universities.

The University Grants the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) a Copy of a Digital Archive

The president of Arab American University Prof. Ali Zedan AbuZuri handed the Head of Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation (PBC), Ahmad Assaf a copy of a digital archive containing the sessions of the Palestinian Legislative Council. During the visit of the office of Palestinian Minister, Ahamd Assaf, with the presence of the Director of Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center (PCRSC) based on university campus, Rula Shahwan.

The Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center has archived about 200 hours of these sessions that took place on Palestinian grounds since 1996 as part of the Erasmus project, funded by the European Union.

The University receives an International Accreditation in Professional Training

Continuing Education Center at the University received an international accreditation in the field of professional training from the Accreditation Council (SWAC) for trainees, which is responsible of reviewing the training quality offered by the university or institution or training program. Where the advisor Mohammed Hassunih the representative of the Council in Palestine handed over the accreditation to the Director of the Continuing Education Center, Dr. Khaled Attieh.

Dr. Attieh Head of the center said that this accreditation allows the students who enrolled in the training courses to internationally equivalent their certificates with 13 international specialized institutions, as it allows them to enter higher quality training on a global level, allowing them to achieve their professional goals and aspirations.

Part of the Lecture

Faculty of Graduate Studies at Ramallah Campus hosted Mr. Awad Qumsieh, Enterprise Risk Manager at Ooreedo Palestine in a lecture for students of the strategic risk management course in the Master of Strategic Planning and Fundraising program

Dr. Ra’id Shomali, course professor, invited Mr. Qumsieh to class in order to share his experiences in managing enterprise risk for a major private sector Palestinian organization. In his talk, Mr. Qumsieh emphasized that even though regulatory pressures have increased the implementation of risk management in the banking industry, Ooreedeo is the first private sector organization to voluntarily establish an enterprise risk management department. After the conclusion of the event, Mr. Qumsieh expressed his happiness with the student’s knowledge of risk terminology and processes. Mr.

Discussing ways of collaboration between the University and the German Cultural Attaché

The VP of International Relations Dr. Dalal Erekat from AAUP discussed ways of enhancing research and academic collaborations with research centers and German Universities, during her meeting with the cultural Attaché in the office of the Representative of Germany, the Counselor Mr. Ulrich Kane,

Dr. Erekat the VP of International Relations gave a brief overview of the university and its academic programs and specializations offered in PhD, MA and BA degrees. She also discussed partnerships between the university and regional and international institutions, including Germany. Furthermore, she added that the university is looking forward to expand partnerships and cooperation at the Arab and international levels.

Students of Ph.D program in Business

An Orientation Day for students in PhD program in Business organized by the Faculty of Graduate Studies where the University announced the start of teaching PhD program in Business with a joint collaboration of Indiana University in Pennsylvania, USA.

The Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies Dr. Abdulrahman Abu Libdeh, said: "The University announced a year and a half ago that the university has received an accreditation for a worldwide unique program. Today, the University is celebrating the first meeting of this doctoral program and announced the start of teaching it. As he pointed out the high interest of the business sector in enhancing and supporting this program, where he thanked the Bank of Palestine for their Scholarship offer for the doctoral students.

Collaboration & Partnership Agreement signed between AAUP & PCBS

Arab American University presented by Prof. Ali Zedan Abu Zuhri the University’s President and The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics presented by Dr. Ola Awad the PCBS President signed an MoU that aims to create joint collaboration to serve and benefit the public’s interest within the partnership and work integration to provide quality services for the Palestinian society.

This came during the visit of PCBS delegation to the University represented by Dr. Ola Awad, Dr. Sufian Abu Harb the Undersecretary Assistant for Administrative, Financial and IT Affairs, Mr. Loa’y Shehadeh the Undersecretary Assistant for Planning, Development and International Relations, and Ms. A’naya Zedan Undersecretary Assistant for Statistical Affairs.
