Arab American University-Jenin received a youth delegation comprising 40 people from 17 countries, in the first International Palestinian Youth Camp, which was organized by the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports. The delegation visited the university in order to have an overview about it.
The delegation was received by the Director of Public Relations at the University; Mr. Fathi Aamor, the assistant of the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports in the north; Mr. Yousef Al-Zoubi, the Representative of the General Directorate of Youth Affairs in the Council; Mr. Thaer Barghouti.
Mr. Aamor welcomed the delegation, after presenting a film about the university, and gave a detailed explanation about the university and its evolution, faculties, and its academic programs. He also stated that the university has been seeking to develop both the academic programs, and the extracurricular activities in addition to the cooperation between the American, European and regional universities.
In turn, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports in the north; Yousef Al Zoubi, praised the role of Arab American University- Jenin, which has become a scientific beacon for all Palestinians. He added that this international youth camp embraces nearly 160 young men and women came from 20 Arab and international countries. The camp aimed to activate the role of youth, and inform the participants about the situation of the Palestinian youth. Mr. Al Zoubi, explained that their visit to the university was to spot the reality and challenges of education under occupation and the arbitrary procedures.
At the end of the visit, the delegation went a field toure at the university, accompanied by the public relations officer; Raed Abu Bakr, to get to know the facilities and the departments of Arab American University.
