The Arab American University President Prof. Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri and Secretary of the Permeant Qatari Committee for the Support of Jerusalem Major General Belal Natsheh signed a partnership and cooperation agreement between the two parties to support and help Jerusalem students enrolled in the university.
This came during a visit of the Major General Natsheh to the University. The University President Dr. Abu Zuhri and the member of the University's Board of Trustees Jamal Hwail welcomed him.1
Dr. Abu Zuhri welcomed the visiting delegation and gave them detailed explanation about the university and its growth. He pointed, the university offers several financial grants to students, as well as providing loans to support them to continue learning and overcome the difficult economic conditions.
The Arab American University and the University of Paris 8 have completed the “Advanced Information Design” course for the master students in the Computer Science Program. As part of a cooperation program and project between the two universities, with the support of the French government.
The course included in-depth lectures in design and information mining in “Palestinian Heritage Sites as a Case Study,” field trips to work on creating digital information from archaeological sites and organize workshops for student groups with specialists in applications field. Both Prof. Khaldoun Zriq Head of the CITU laboratory at the University of Paris VIII, and Prof. Nassir Aldeen Bouhi Head of Informatics Master Program at the University of Paris VIII, gave the course.
The University VP for International Affairs Dr. Dalal Erekat discussed cooperation ways in academic and research fields and exchange expertise with the University of Montreal, Canada high-level delegation, which included VP for International Affairs, his two vices, and Deans of faculties of Law, Science and Arts, and Medicine.
“The meeting with the Canadian University of Montreal delegation was positive and comes within the Arab American University initiative to improve the higher education level in Palestine and provide new specializations and academic programs to keep pace with globalization and openness to the world, through activating more joint master programs and provide students with everything new to fill the Palestinian market with modern sciences and skills”, said Dr. Erekat.
