The Arab American University and the University of Paris 8 have completed the “Advanced Information Design” course for the master students in the Computer Science Program. As part of a cooperation program and project between the two universities, with the support of the French government.
The course included in-depth lectures in design and information mining in “Palestinian Heritage Sites as a Case Study,” field trips to work on creating digital information from archaeological sites and organize workshops for student groups with specialists in applications field. Both Prof. Khaldoun Zriq Head of the CITU laboratory at the University of Paris VIII, and Prof. Nassir Aldeen Bouhi Head of Informatics Master Program at the University of Paris VIII, gave the course.
Suhaib Mari, a computer science graduate of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University, is participating in the Google conference, held today May 6, 2018 in Mountain View, United States.
Mari has received an invitation to participate in this important conference as a representative of Google Worldwide Groups “GDG” of 500 members.
Prof. Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri, University President, praised this participation and stressed the university family encouragement and his to Mari, who’s a model for the persevering student and excellence seeker. The 9th multimedia week’s events at the Arab American University, organized by the Faculty of Engineering and IT Multimedia Department, was launched, where the departments’ students achievements displayed along with arranging seminars, specialized workshops, and contests.
The events started with the exhibition opening in the presence of the University VP for Planning and Development Affairs Dr. Osama Salama, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology Dr. Mohammad Hamarsha, Head of the Multimedia Department Dr. Mohammad Maree, heads of the faculty’s departments and some academic and administrative faculty members.
