Two students from Arab American University of Jenin won the third place at the center of scientific research in the applied sciences. This was during the eighteenth creative forum of students, which was held at South Valley University in Egypt, under the title, "Treatments and solutions for young contemporary challenges and the crisis of sub-identities."
The vice president of the Arab American Arab University for training, Dr. Nizam Diab, said that Mira Khader and Dina Zayed are two students from the biology and biotechnology department at the University. They submitted a research paper entitled "Examining the Effectiveness of Four Medicinal Plants used in Palestine against Diabetes,”. Moreover, this research, which was supervised by both Dr. Hilal Al-Zaid, and Dr. Abdul Salam Camille. This research paper competed 60 scientific papers, where 35 universities from different Arab countries participated in this forum. The forum includes five main sections, including the scientific research section in the applied sciences. As a result the two students were ranked third in that section.
Dr. Diab also explained, that Arab American University participates every year in this event. This comes in line with the Arab Council activities for training for Arab American university students. The university, on the other hand, is a member in this council. Since it causes a positive impact on students in terms of scientific involvements and participation, with giving students a chance to be in touch with other universities students. Therefore, this leads to build complementary relationships, and increases the exchanging training opportunities with other Arab universities.
