Researcher Azhar Abdelkarim Hamdan, a computer science student at the Arab American University Faculty of Graduate Studies, defended her master thesis entitled “The use of GIS based on decision support to manage water distribution networks – Nablus city as Case Study”.
She addressed the use of GIS and hydraulic analysis systems to build an intelligent system capable of connecting all components of the water network and finding water losses. The researcher recommended building accurate geographic water networks databases to enable it to intelligently save, display and manage data, leading to right decisions backed with science and accurate information.
By the end of discussion, the committee composed of the supervisor and Head of the committee Dr. Amjad Al-Ratrout, Co-supervisor Dr. Jacqueline Gubran, Arab American University internal examiner Dr. Waleed Sabah, and external examiner from An-Najah University Dr. Bakr Abdelhaq, decided to give the student Azhar Hamdan a master degree.
