Researcher Hala Masoud, student at AAUP Faculty of Graduate Studies, defended her thesis in Commercial Law entitled: “Mortgage as Bank Guaranty in Palestinian Legislation”.
In her thesis, researcher discussed mortgage in Palestine as the most important guaranty, stressing that with the rise of housing prices and individuals’ incapability to provide enough money to buy one, banks are providing it, by mortgaging a property the client owns as a guarantee for the bank’s right so that the customer repays the loan.

Arab American University hosted the National Mental Calculations Competition organized by Iqra Intelligence Mental Account Academy (IMA) under the Ministry of Higher Education’s supervision. 150 child from various centers in West Bank participated, the competition coincided with another held in Gaza Strip where 500 Childs from Gaza’s Intelligence Mental Account centers.
AAUP Faculty of Science Dean & Head of Mathematics Department Dr. Abdul Halim Ziqan, General Director for Intelligence Mental Academy Dr. Mohammad Hamarsheh, Ministry of Higher Education Representative Dr. Jihad Nazzal, and Director of Iqra Intelligence Mental Calculations Academy in Jenin Dr. Rasha Hamarsheh and a number of center’s teachers and directors all attended the competition.
Researcher Salah Jabarin, student at AAUP Faculty of Graduate Studies, defended his thesis in Computer Science entitled: “Communication and Accuracy in Private Networks”.
Researcher Jabarin discussed in his thesis on private bilateral communication networks that have distinctive and unique privacy, stressing on the need for protocols able to manage network and ensure high level of accuracy, communication and provide suitable quality and quantity service. The researcher simulated and evaluated four of the protocols, designed to deal with private networks.
