AAUP participates in Anti-Corruption Conference in Palestine under the title of “The Opportunities & Challenges: 5 Years of the Palestinian membership to the UN Convention against Corruption”. The Conference was supervised by Shams Center for Human Rights and Democracy, and the Friedrich Neumann Foundation for Freedom.
During the Conference Dr. Dalal Iriqat VP and lecturer of Conflict Resolution and Strategic Planning at Faculty of Graduate Studies presented a research paper about “The extent of Palestine’s commitment to the requirements of the UN conventions against corruption through legislative, executive and judicial measures”.
Faculty of law at AAUP organized a conference for The Right of Peaceful Assembly in Palestinian Territories with the cooperation of Shams Center for Human Rights and Democracy.
Ceremony Opening
VP of Academic Affairs Dr. Muayad Abu Saah welcomed the attendance and said that AAUP continues to support such conferences hoping to sum up with effective recommendations where AAUP will support these recommendations for the benefit of Palestine, thanking all those who contributed in the success of the conference.
AAUP is ready for the conference of “The Right to Peaceful Assembly in Palestinian Territories”. In cooperation with the Human Rights and Democracy Center "Shams", to be held next Sunday, 27th of October - main campus - Jenin.
Dr. Ghassan Allian Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University and head of the Preparatory Committee of the Conference assured the importance of the conference, where the conference will be talking about one of the forms of the right to freedom of opinion and expression. He pointed out that peaceful assembly is one of the legitimate ways of expressing opinion and political participation to build a democratic system, based on ensuring respect for human rights and human dignity.
