With participation of 30 couches from different West Bank governorates, Palestinian Volleyball Federation officially opened its International first-level volleyball championship at Arab American University, hosted by the international volleyball expert, Mr. Mohammad Khalil.
The opening was attended by Fathi Imour, the university’s PR Manager, Mr. Adnan Abu- Farha, Chairman of the Palestine Association Competitions Committee, and Mr. Oday Daraghmeh, lecturer and Director of sports facilities.
A delegation from the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) and the Palestinian Football Federation inspected the stadium of Arab American University for its readiness to host the upcoming international and Asian championships.
The delegation included the Director of Administrative Affairs of the West Asian Football Federation Aruba Al-Husseini and the International Relations Officer in the Palestinian Football Federation Iman Abu Jabr. The reception was attended by the Director of Sports Facilities at the University, Mr. Odi Darghmih.
The University participated in a forum for sports media, hosted by Muscat in the presence of lecturers and medias from various Arab countries. The main forum focused on sports culture and sustainable development.
Dr. Sabra Jarrar, a lecturer at Arab American University along with the President of the Palestinian Federation for Sports Culture in Palestine, presented the role of sports culture in forming the human awareness through a variety of variables that contribute well-being in the human’s life and existence through sport as a soft tool capable to commit the pillars of the 2030 Sustainable development plan in: Social, Environmental, and Economical aspects.
