Alumni Affairs Department at the Arab American University concluded a training course on job search skills entitled “Job Seeking is a Job”, in cooperation with Palestine Education for Employment Foundation with 43 participation of graduate students, presented by coaches Osama Al-Sadi and Bilal Al-Ashqar.
This training is important as it works to develop life skills and highlight the personality important role in finding the right opportunity to start in job market, by discovering the skills, how to develop them, then address trainees’ weaknesses to fix them and strengthen their strengths. Addressing number of topics that interests University graduates in job searching, discussed the labor market, qualities the seeker must develop, methods to develop self-confidence and communication skills and study the latest methods in manage stress the graduate exposed to in a large number of cases and situations they face after graduation. Also, addressed CV writing skills and job interview skills.
Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Abdullah Walweel, commented on this training, stressed that it’s important especially because it comes in light of the high unemployment rate among young people. He urged students to take advantage of the courses as much as possible, learn the job search skills and job placement mechanism that thousands of university graduates compete at.
In his turn, Mr. Saro Nakshian, Director General of Palestine Education for Employment Foundation, praised the university role serving its graduates and enhancing their skills. He added, this activity was a continuation of a series of activities carried previously with the university. Mentioning, the foundation ambitious to enrich graduates’ experiences and abilities.
