Amir Khalil
Dr. Amir Khalil is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law and Public Administration at Birzeit University, Palestine (BZU), Officer of the External Academic Relations, Director of the Grants and Contracts Office at BZU. He is Postdoctoral fellowship at the Centre for Private and Economic in the Faculty of Law and Criminology-Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium.
Khalil obtained his Bachelor degree in law from the Arab American University (Palestine, 2007).
He obtained his PhD in law from the Center of Private and Economic Law, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) (Brussels, Belgium, 2013); Master degree in the EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies from the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium, 2012); LL.M Master Degree in the International and European Law from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Brussels, Belgium, 2008). He worked as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Law at Arab American University and Al-Najah University in Palestine and he worked with the International Trade Committee at the European Parliament (Brussels, Belgium).
He has been visiting professor at Tallinn University of Technology (TTU) at the Faculty of Law (Estonia, 2015), Tampere Peace Research Institute (TAPRI) at the Faculty of Social Science of Tampere University (Finland, 2016), and the Faculty of Law of the University of Deusto (Bilbao, Spain, 2016). He has been awarded number of research fellowships;2014 Arab Regional Workshop and Fellowship Program funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York , 2015 Arab Reform Initiative, Civil Society Scholar Awards (CSSA) funded by the Open Society Foundation (2015-2016). He has number of publications and participations in local and international conferences.
