AAU Welcomes Australia's Representative at Palestine

Arab American University welcomes Australia’s Representative at Palestine Marcia Pius who visited the university to check its progress, achievements and open prospects for cultural, academic and research cooperation between the two parties

University President Deputy for Training Affairs Dr. Nizam Diab, University President Deputy for Planning and Improving Affairs Dr. Osama Salameh, Political Sciences lecturer Dr. Ayman Yousef and Public Relations manager Mr. Fathi Imour, all welcomed the Representative.

During the reception, university representatives welcomed the Australian Embassy delegation giving them detailed explanation on the university and its aims, academic programs and its role in adopting new, modern, international teaching methods, all which put AAUP on the top Palestinian universities. Explaining, AAUP is developing programs and disciplines to meet national needs and improve many vital fields in Palestine.

Adding, AAU’s philosophy depends on opening up to International, American and European universities to have joint programs, researches and exchange experiences, students and academic staffs.

The Australian Representative Marcia Pius expressed its admiration of AAU, said: “What I saw today in the Arab American University is gratifying, it’s a university with international standards; its offered bachelor and master programs, usage of modern technologies in its systems and teaching and its ambitious plans to improve Palestine’s higher education”.

Australian Representative mentioned Australian Embassy’s graduate studies scholarships for Palestinian students to study in Australian universities, adding the Embassy is willing to make meaningful cooperate in academic and research maters between Arab American University and Australian universities to serve the higher education and Palestinian students, the two parties also exchanged a number of ideas for implementing joint programs and building partnerships with prestigious Australian universities.

During the visit Australia’s Representative took a tour around university campus to see its faculties, training centers and sports village, and got to know the university future plans.
