Arab American University Announces Preparations for its Annual Conference, Entitled “Palestine Where to?”

Saturday, April 21, 2018

The “Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies” Center at the Arab American University started preparing for holding its first annual conference entitled “In the light of local, regional and international changes... Palestine where to?” Which will take place at the university's Ramallah campus, from 22nd – 25th of June.

The conference is a continuation of the previous one which was held at the University's Ramallah campus in April last year and resulted in creating the “Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies” Center. The opening of this center came in harmony with the University's philosophy of positive interaction with national, regional and international issues in light of current developments.

The conference will focus on social communication role in gaining solidarity with the Palestinian people, in addition to Palestinian public diplomacy and its role in establishing national rights. The second focus will tackle the task of international law, UN diplomacy and international agreements in finding a just solution to the Palestinian issue, and create a compelling global coalition to reduce the imposition of de facto policy.

The third addressed the issue of negotiations facing the policy pursued by the United States of America under the current Trump administration, also the importance of searching for viable alternatives, and the future of international mediation in the light of the declared American bias to Israel.

As for the fourth, it included the interaction between local, regional and international contexts in the Palestinian arena, especially during the regional fragmentation and divisions in the Arab countries. It also deals with the Palestinian reconciliation future and regional interventions in the Palestinian conflict.

To highlight the Jerusalem issue with its religious, political and national dimensions; the fifth topic was devoted to analyzing Israeli policies and real practices in the Holy City.

On this occasion, the “Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies” Center is announcing to all researchers and those interested in presenting their contributions and researches at this conference. For more information on the conference visit its website using the link: http://pcrsc.aauj.edu
