President of the Arab American University Prof. Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri received the deputy director general of the Palestinian police Brigadier General Jihad Al-Masimi during his visit to the University to inspect its achievements, and he discussed enhancing joint cooperation to provide services to the educational process.
Brigadier al-Masimi was accompanied in his visit the Chief Police in Jenin Col. Muhannad Suwwan, and the Director of the Police Academic Affairs Col. Mansour Khozaimah, and the Director of public relations at Jenin police Major Aws Attiyana, and a group from the Palestinian police officers.
The University President received the guests in attendance of his two deputies for Training Affairs Dr. Diab Nizam, and for Planning and Development Affairs Dr. Osama Salameh. During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Abu Zuhri praised the Palestinian Police efforts in providing protection, security and stability to the people of the homeland and its institutions, especially the educational.
He briefed the delegation about the university, its colleges, its objectives, its achievements, its academic programs in the bachelor's and master's degrees, its academic and scientific and research partnerships with international universities, and its permanent quest to develop specialties that meet the needs of the Palestinian citizen in light of the rapid progress in various aspects of life.
Prof. Dr. Abu Zuhri said: "The university and police represent symbols of sovereignty and national identity, and both always seek to provide sublime services of education and security for the people of Palestine, and they are two sides for civilization and progress." He added, through science and security, Nations are built and peoples advance, and that the scientific and research and security achievements provide a fertile environment for the prosperity of the economy of nations and the welfare of its citizens, and opens future prospects for the younger generations.
He assured that the Arab American University opens its doors and welcomes the Palestinian police officers and its members for communication and exchange of experiences, and for holding training courses to them in the areas of interest for the Palestinian police and which are at the core of the police work..
For his part, Brigadier Al-Masimi expressed his pride in the Arab American University, its achievements, its leading role as a beacon of science in the north of the country, and that it represents an incubator for the people of Palestine in the occupied territories in 1948. He said: "The Arab American University is a model educational institution in Palestine that managed in a record-time to develop the higher education sector by applying and adopting modern science in partnership with international universities, and graduating regiments of students of entrepreneurs, in addition to the consolidation of good citizenship, and providing an atmosphere of love and communication between the Palestinian students regardless the difference of their residence, and had promoted the culture of dialogue and respect for the law. "
