Hassib Sabbagh Center for IT Excellence at Arab American University launched GoTech Technology Program in partnership with Glow Innovations and ElectroTech organizations. It simulates Palestinian technology curriculum targeting school students.
The program launch came after signing partnership and cooperation agreement. Represented Hassib Sabbagh center Chairman of its Board of Directors Eng. Muhanad Higawi, Glow Innovations General Manager Eng. Hasan Omar and ElectroTech General Manager Eng. Muhanad Qutob.
GoTech is an embodiment of collaboration between the academic and private sectors. It’s an integrated model with the formal education sector to build solid foundation in electronics and modern technology for students (grades 6 to high-school) in the whole country.
The program aims to provide students with the necessary technical skills to design and build practical models covering all activities and practical training related to IT curriculum. Students will train in four stages: analogue electronics, digital electronics, Arduino, and Android applications.
To guaranty the program success an Innovation and Creativity Lab was opened in Hassib Sabbagh Center. It was equipped with software tools, equipment and electronic capabilities necessary to the program train students. The organizing committee have interviewed dozens of targeted school students, distributing them to groups by age. Moreover, 10 trainers of graduates and students of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the Arab American University was fully trained and prepared.
