President of the University Honors the University Team that Participated in the ACM Global Programming Contest

Won the third place at the level of the Palestinian Universities

The President of the Arab American University Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri honored the team of the Faculty of Engineering and IT who participated on behalf of the university in the global programming contest ACM, where he won the third place at the level of the Palestinian universities, and the fourth place at the level of the teams participating in the competition.

Prof. Dr. Abu Zuhri congratulated the team for their victory, hoping they get the first place in the coming competitions and expressing the willingness of the university to provide whatever needed for students to participate in competitions whether at the local, regional or international levels.

In turn, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology Dr. Mohammed Hamarsheh indicated that the Faculty is always keen to participate in international programming contests and other competitions because that will raise the level of students and create a spirit of competition between them.  He explained that the level the team had achieved in the competition emphasizes the high level of our college students, adding that the team will take part in the competition at the regional level in Egypt next month.

It is said that the global programming contest was organized by the automatic computing ACM Association and formerly was held at Al-Najah University where nine Palestinian universities participated and it targeted students specialized in information technology who competed each within teams representing their universities.  Each team consisted of three students, and the teams were differentiated according to their scientific level and the ability to analyze, design, and accomplishing algorithms solutions in one of the programming languages C, C ++ and Java, with the ability to invest time, distribution of tasks, cooperation between the members of the team and teamwork.
