The University Achieves a New Accomplishment at the Second Session of Entrepreneurial Projects Competition Organized by the Innovation Foundation

The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the Arab American University reaped the second and fifth places in the entrepreneurial projects competition at its second session, which was organized by Creativity Foundation.

Two projects were selected from the university among the top five winning projects in the competition to be registered as emerging companies.

The projects that have been selected are the project "Storyboardat" winning second place in the contest, which was under the supervision of Head of the IT department in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology Dr. Mohammed Mar’ei, with the participation of the students: Mohammed Naji Hanaysheh, Aseel Abu Arra, Safa’ Massad, and the representative of the private sector Professor Ahmed Nasser.

The idea of the project is to build an application that allows for several categories of users to convert what is going on in their imagination of ideas into visual graphics easily and quickly, so that it can be used for multiple purposes, such as producing entertainment stories, or for educational purposes, or for dedicated (professional) uses such as in the production of movies and animation.

The second project "iTalent" "Othva", winning the fifth place in the competition, under the supervision of the lecturer in the IT department Dr. Ahmed ‘Owais, with the participation of the students: Rawiya Abu al-Rub, Fida’ Abu al-Rub, Ghadir Zayoud, and the representative of the private sector Mr. Ismat Ibrahim.

 The idea of the project is to develop a social networking site, and applying smart devices that enables owners of Arab talents to deploy their talents in different forms (voice, image, video/direct, text), and to participate in various competitions in an easy fast and inexpensive method, the project aims to encourage the talented Arabs of different ages and places to display their talents in all scientific and recreational areas, and to develop them.

The winning projects were evaluated by a panel of experts and specialists. This committee consisted of CEO of Ibda’ institution Mr. Rasem Sowwan, a representative of Glow Innovation institution Mr. Hasan Omar, a representative of PICTI institution Mr. Maher ‘Alawneh, and the representative of the Supreme Council for Creativity and Excellence Ms. Nadia Saba'neh.
