University and Palestinian Red Crescent Celebrates Signing Agreement to Establish Emergency Center in Campus

An ambulance is always available

Arab American University and Palestinian Red Crescent celebrated the official signing of the agreement to build emergency center in the university main campus and provide an ambulance to serve the students and citizens in the university surrounding areas.

During the ceremony, University President Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri and Red Crescent Society President Dr. Younis Al-Khatib signed the agreement in presence of the Society Director General Dr. Khalid Jawdeh, Dean of Faculties of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences at the University Dr. Mohammad Asia and University PR Director Mr. Fathi Amour.

University president Dr. Abu Zuhri thanked the Red Crescent Society and its President Dr. Younis Al Khatib, “Since the agreement initial signing the University has equipped the center and the ambulance site with all its work necessities. In order to provide a safe study environment for university students, and contribute to provide primary treatment services to citizens in villages and communities near the university”.

He added, on one hand, we seek to provide students with advanced, modern sciences and necessary skills for the labor market to shape their bright future. On the other hand, provide them with necessary treatment services on daily basis and in case of any emergency. Mentioning, as the university philosophy is to be responsible for Palestinian society, we’ll seek through the ambulance and emergency center in cooperation with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society to serve citizens who live in the communities and villages near the university.

As for the Red Crescent Society President Dr. Al-Khatib he said “Signing this agreement with the Arab American University to establish the center in Jenin is a huge step in the right direction, since the surrounding area is in dispirit need for such services. Adding, the university graduates educated, knowledgeable Palestinians and we at the Red Crescent Society will keep this safe and healthy”.

He stressed that the Red Crescent Society is national humanitarian services association, and thanked everyone of its staff members working in the country’s various governorates. He is proud of their constant work readiness to meet national humanitarian appeal in a professional and sincere manner. Pointing, one of the center's tasks besides providing treatment for students and citizens, it will offer first-aid courses for university students and staff to deal with emergencies.
