Researcher Rula Mohammed Amin Shahwan, a conflict resolution and development student at the Arab American University Faculty of Graduate Studies in Ramallah, defended her master degree thesis, titled “Visual Archive is Power, Collective Memory, and National Identity”.
In her message, the researcher discussed the archive importance and strength in the national identity history, especially the visual archive and its role in cultural heritage management, reflecting the people’s heritage. Also provided objective analysis of the Palestinian visual archive state through exploring its journey since the twentieth century’s second half.
At the end of the defense, the committee of the thesis supervisor and committee's president Dr. Nahed Habiballah, the Arab American University internal examiner Prof. Dr. Ayman Yousef, and the external examiner Head of the European Academic Cooperation Dr. Nidal Al-Jayousi, decided to award the student Rula Shahwan with master degree.
In the same context, researcher Mahmoud Sharif Mustafa Zaiton, a strategic planning and fundraising student at the Faculty of Graduate Studies in University Ramallah campus, defended his master thesis, entitled “The Reality of Operational Planning in the Palestinian Police Administrative Affairs Department”.
In his thesis, he addressed the operational planning constraints and requirements of success in the planning mechanisms. The thesis recommended the managers essential participation in setting operational plans for the Palestinian Police Administrative Affairs Department.
At the end of the defense, the committee of the thesis supervisor and the committee chairman Prof. Dr. Aisar Sousan, Arab American University internal examiner Dr. A’sry Samoudi, and external examiner from An-Najah University Dr. Hisham Jabr, decided to grant the student Mahmoud Zaiton a master degree.
