The university hosted a German expert at the Conflict Resolution and Political Studies

The Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University hosted Professor Florain Kon- a German expert at the Conflict Resolution and Political Studies who visited the graduate studies centre in Ramallah and gave a lecture to students at the Conflict Resolution and Development Masters.
Dr. Florain talked about an important article that he previously published at the Third World Quarterly magazine. At his article, he followed the stages that developing countries go through “Resilient and Flexible State” as he presented his international experience in studying the violence of communities around the world. Dr. Florain came up with an image of the state that is able to challenge and fulfil the basic needs of its people. In his research, Dr. Florain studied the Afghani situation as a special case.

Students participated at his lecture by asking questions and making comments concerning the Palestinian case in conflict resolution.
