The University in cooperation with the Ministry of Education & Higher Education, a Guidance day for “Al-Injaz” high school students, with the participation of 20 high educational institutions of Universities and colleges, and more than 3000 students from different schools from the directorates of education in Jenin, Tubas and Qabatiya.
The Guidance Day which was held at the sports hall in the university, was part of a meeting series organized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in eight Palestinian governorates. The aim of this day is to introduce high school students to the specializations available in educational institutions and to help them choose the university and the appropriate specialization that suits their needs and the market needs.
The Activates of the guidance day were launched through an opening ceremony attended by the VP of Academic Affairs Dr. Zaki Saleh as the representative of the university president Prof. Ali Abu Zuhri, and the representative of the Ministry of Education and Higher Director of the Directorate of Education in Jenin Mr. Tarek Alawneh, the VP for Administrative and Financial Affairs Mr. Faleh Abu Arrah, the Director of Education in Tubas Mr. Saied Qabhah, the Director of the Directorate of Education in Qabatiya Mr. Mazen Jarrar, and the Director of Student Activities Dep at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Mr. Aymen Hudali, and the supervising committee of the Guidance day.
The VP of Academic Affairs Dr. Zaki Saleh, in his speech welcomed the audience on behalf of Prof. Ali Abu Zuhri and presented a detailed introductory about the university, its faculties and its specializations. Pointing out that the university always seeks on opening new and unique faculties and programs according to the needs of the labor market on local, regional and international levels, as well as the University's unique services to the local community.
He added that the university is currently hosting “Al-Injaz” high school students at an important crossroads in their lives in order to help them plan for their next stage in the educational progress, assuring that each student has the necessary abilities and success will reveal these abilities. Expressing that today in the guidance day the student will have the opportunity to check out the specialization that the AAUP and Palestinian universities presents. Which facilitates for them the ability to choose the program that suits their needs and goals to contribute in building our nation.
For his part, the Directorate of Education in Jenin Mr. Tarek Alawneh said in his speech on behalf of the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Sabri Sidem, He thanked Arab American University for hosting the event for the third year in a row. To prepare and organize for the success of this day with the participation of institutions of higher education, and assured that the Ministry will remain keen to provide educational service and support students for creativity, achievement and excellence.
During the event many students visits the booths of each university and college and received the special printings and fliers, as the asked about their special disciplines and programs. Where the university and colleges supported the students and gave them detailed introductory about their institution and services.
As the AAUP staff and their student volunteers gave guided tours in the university, facilities and faculties.
