The Deanship of Student Affairs at Arab American University organized the International Hult Prize competition titled "Unemployment" in which 15 teams of university students competed to present innovative ideas to combat unemployment. The competition aims to encourage students to innovate, produce and share pioneering ideas.
The competition was opened by the employee of Deanship of Student Affairs at the University Ms. Juanna Al-Hafei where she welcomed the attendees. She assured the importance of the competition, which bears a title that a lot of Arab societies suffers from. Pointing out that the ideas presented in the competition contributes to the alleviation of unemployment, and the winner of this competition will move to other stages reaching globally, as she thanked the Committee of faculty members Dr. Rola Jadallah, Dr. Raed Erekat and Dr. Rami Hadoub and Dr. Ahmed Aweys, Students open their doors to receive and disseminate pioneering ideas.
The student at Faculty of Arts and coordinator of the competition Ms. Naya Shalbak, noted that the international Hult Prize competition was founded by the expatriate Palestinian Ahmed Al Ashqar, supported by the United Nations and former US President Bill Clinton, thanking Arab American University for organizing the competition and providing the necessary for the success of this event. The winner of this competition will compete at the national level and then compete at the global level.
The 15 teams presented their leading ideas to the jury, the team of Finance Wizard won that’s contained of Raba Kmal, Nour Kmal, Rida Abu Sheikha and Ahmad Sabuo. Their idea was an application that helps people transport their goods through trucks.
