The University Organizes a Workshop About the University Student Researcher Award

The Student Affairs and Scientific Research Dept. at the University organized a workshop about "university student researcher competition". Which was launched by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in its second edition. The workshop hosted The Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Affairs in the Ministry Dr. Ehab Al-Qabj, and the Director of Scientific Research Dept. at the Ministry Dr. Bassam Al-Hajj. Where Dr. Nazem Diab the deputy of the President University also attended the workshop and welcomed the audience, and the Dean of Scientific Research at the University Dr. Mahmoud Manasra, Dean of Student Affairs at the University Dr. Bashar Daraghmeh, Director of Education Directorate in Jenin Mr. Tareq Alawneh, and a number of faculty members at the university and students also attended the workshop.

The workshop aims to enhance and encourage AAUP students to participate in the university student researcher competition, and to introduce them with the terms, fields, categories and awards of the competition.

The workshop was opened by Dr. Diab who conveyed the greetings of the university's president Prof. Ali Zidan Abu Zuhri, and assured the university's interest in scientific research, which is one of the university's main objectives. He praised the role of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, especially in the field of scientific research, to encourage students and motivate them in scientific research which is the basis of science and knowledge.

The Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr. Ehab Al-Qabj, and the Director of Scientific Research Dept. at the Ministry Dr. Bassam Al-Haj presented a full explanation of the award. They pointed out that the aim of this competition is to encourage regular Palestinian students to continue their activities and research initiatives in scientific research and spread the culture of scientific research, which contributes in raising the quality of research outputs in Palestine, in addition to achieving quality and sustainable developments in research sectors.

He explained that the fields of the competition are in engineering and its sciences, technology and information systems, educational sciences, administrative and financial sciences, and finally medical and health sciences, indicating that students of the university in both the bachelor and master's degrees can participate in the competition. He added that The students who want to participate in the competition can see the details of the award through the website of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, or through the Deanship of Scientific Research at the university.

At the end of the workshop, the participants discussed some of the issues related to the award and responded to the student’s questions who are willing to participate in the competition.
