Samar Hamdan, student at the Arab American University Arabic Language and Media Department, won the third place in the Research Contest entitled “Entrepreneurship, Innovation and 21st Century Challenges”, organized by the 19th Students Creativity Forum. Annually the Arab Council for Training Arab Universities Students, part of the Arab Universities Union, organizes the forum.
American University at Ras Al-KHaima, UAE, hosted the forum with the participation of 36 research from the 80 research submitted to the contest in August of this year.
Her participation came in the focus of the social media impact on individuals behavior in a research entitled “The Direction of Palestinian News Sites Handles the Palestinian Youth Entrepreneurship: Analytical Study of Wafa, Maan and The Economic Websites”, under the supervision of the Arab American University media lecturer Mr. Said Abu Moalla.
Lecturer Abu Moalla considered students participation a necessity as it involve them in scientific competitions joining them in research fields and deepen their awareness of Arab issues, especially youth’s.
“These forums qualify students and new graduates in the scientific research field and possibility to obtain degrees, in addition to creating opportunities to identify new cultures and achievements”, said Hamdan. She thanked the university administration and its teachers for their support and encouragement to participate in this competition.
It’s noteworthy that the conference, held in the middle of this month, included four topics: energy and environment, systems, information and programming, the social media impact on individual behavior, and the artistic and literary creativity.
