Hassib Al-Sabbagh Center for Information Technology Excellence at Arab American University signed two agreements to sponsor projects with two groups of university students through the recently launched PASS program, which is implemented by Leaders Foundation, funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The Manger of Hassib Al-Sabbagh Center, Eng. Ahmed Fouad, said that the program aims to support the pioneering ideas and turn them into projects and new institutions. Where it will be done with the students whom signed the agreement.
He explained that the first agreement was signed with the students Abdul Salam Mansour, Mukhlas Turkman, and Ali Sawahreh, where their project is about designing a device to measure the signs of ECG and analysis it, using data mining techniques to predict the patient's heart disorder problems and to find a cure for them before complications occur.
The University and the Palestinian Monetary Authority signed a joint cooperation agreement in scientific research specialized in economics, business and financial sciences, exchanging experiences and enhancing students’ skills, organizing seminars and awareness conferences in many areas of common interest.
The agreement was signed in Arab American University Ramallah campus The Governor of Monetary Authority, H.E Mr. Azzam Shawa, and President of the University, Prof. Ali Zidan Abu Zuhri, attended by the Academic Advisor Prof. Walid Dib, VP of Administration and Financial Affairs Mr. Faleh Abu Ara; VP of International Relations Dr. Dalal Erekat, VP of Planning and Development Affairs Dr. Moaz Sabha, Dean of Scientific Research Dr. Mahmoud Manasra, and from the Monetary Authority the Public Relations Manager Mrs. Irene Saadeh.
Arab American University discussed ways of academic and research collaborations and exchange experiences with Portuguese Universities, due to the great efforts made by the Ambassador of Palestine State in Portugal, Dr. Nabil Abu Zneid.
During the visit to Portugal, the representative of AAUJ Dr. Mohamed Asya Dean of the Faculties of Allied Medical Sciences and Nursing has pointed out that several meetings have been held along with scientific meetings to discuss the cooperation with a number of Portuguese universities such as Algarve University.
