Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center at the University organized a lecture entitled "Archiving between international concept and Palestinian concept" for students from conflict resolution program, and intercultural Communication and Literature program.
During the lecture, two experts from the Swiss Center for Peace and from the Government Archives, as well as the researcher Rola Shahwan a specialist in the Palestinian Visual Archive and Director of the Center gave a presentation on the theoretical concept of archiving, its importance and its role through various stages of Palestinian history, and building the Palestinian national narrative and the collective memory for the benefit of the future and the generations.
The University hosted the Media and Communication Advisor in the Negotiations Affairs Department of the Palestine Liberation Organization Samar Awadallah in a lecture organized by the Office Community Affairs at the University. The lecture aimed students from democracy and human rights course.
Awadallah presented a historical view of the centennial of Balfour Declaration mentioning the Nakba in 1948, the establishment of the Palestine Liberation Organization in 1965, the launching of the Palestinian revolution and the 1967 war, the first Intifada and subsequent Oslo agreement, the rise of the Extreme Israeli Right in governing and fighting against peace in all its forms. Assuring the importance of taking advantage of past experiences and emphasizing our options through peaceful resistance.
The President of Arab American University Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri, welcomed the Deputy Director of General Intelligence Major General Azzam Zakarneh, who visited the university and gave a lecture to its students about the importance of student awareness to be updated with the latest technology and its challenges.
The Assistant President for Community Affairs Dr. Iyad Dalbeh, Dr. Jamal Hanishih, Mr. Ekamil, and the President of Student Council, and the coordinator of Al-Shabibih Movement and the Mufti Mohammad Salah Abu Saed also welcomed the Major General Azzam Zakarneh.
