In cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, the University organized a seminar entitled "The Role of Culture in Economic and Social Development", on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of the legends of economy and culture Rifat Sedqi Nimer.
With the presence of the Assistant President of the University for Community Affairs Dr. Iyad Dalbeh, Deputy Governor of Jenin Kamal Abu Rub, Director of the Culture office in Jenin Amal Abu Ghazal, Representative from The Palestinian Consultative Staff For Developing NGOs (PCS) Moatasem Zayed, Director of Bank of Palestine in Jenin Mahmoud Hammad, Deputy Director of the Ministry of National Economy in Jenin Jalal Abu Bakr, and members of the faculty and representatives of government institutions, NGO’s and security sectors.
The Geographical Information Systems Department GIS at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University held a specialized seminar about geographical names in Palestine, presented by members of the National Committee for Geographical Names the Professor of Social and Historical Geography from Al-Quds University Dr. Fayez Freihat, and acting director of the Palestinian Geographical Center from the Ministry of Transportation and Communication Mr.
The seminar was opened by Dr. Faisal Sabah Head of the GIS Department at the University. The seminar emphasized the importance of this seminar in enhancing the students' knowledge of the importance of geographical names in Palestine and linking them to GIS systems and their future role in harnessing what they learned in the service of this important sector in Palestine. Which expresses the identity and belonging since the adherence of the names is part of the adherence of the land and history.
Arab American University in Ramallah and Erasmus Plus Office in Palestine organized a meeting to introduce the "Erasmus Plus" program aimed at building the capacity of higher education institutions by enhancing the opportunities of students, academic and administrative staff at the university to exchange knowledge and professionalism in Palestine, regionally and Europe.
During the meeting, the representative of Erasmus Plus office in Palestine Dr. Nidal Al-Jayousi spoke about the mechanisms of submitting project proposals in the program, grants and other programs within Erasmus Plus program.
He added that The program funded by the European Union, also provides a range of scholarships for students at different levels of education and workers in the institutions of higher education from around the world, including Palestine.
