Abstract:
Psychosomatics are kind of disorders that are related to or concerned with the
involvement of both mind and physical signs and symptoms. Moreover, when it
comes to headaches, they are considered as one of those major psychosomatic
manifestations. The present study aims to determine the efficacy of wet cupping
therapy in the treatment of headaches and whether there are significant differences
in levels of pain, pre and post cupping. Cross sectional research design was
employed. Data was collected from 102 patients who are diagnosed as suffering
from chronic headaches and related issues. Sample was selected on the bases of
convenience procedures, and all subjects were cupped at Al-Hayaat Medical Centre
for Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy. Descriptive and inferential statistics were
calculated to reach our results and related findings. Results indicate significant
statistical changes and improvements in the studied status of headaches. Positive
effects were observed post cupping therapy interventions, and the obtained paired
t-test revealed such a significant outcome, where the ultimatum p values found to
be as less than 0.000. The findings may lead us to conclude that wet cupping
interventions if mastered properly are of great significance when it comes to the
treatment or lessening psychosomatics, specifically headaches.
