The Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University in Ramallah awarded two master degrees in strategic planning and fundraising, and conflict resolution and development.

The researcher Mohammed Soboh Musa Abu-Shamsieh, a student in the strategic planning and fundraising program, defended his thesis entitled “Determinants Of The Profits Distribution Policy In Public Shareholding Companies, A Case Study from the Palestine Exchange”.

The thesis aimed to identify the most important influencing factors on the profits distributing policy to non-financial companies in the Palestine Exchange and distributing profits to benefit from achieving further growth in the Palestinian market.

Minister Dr. Nasser Qatami meeting with strategic planning and fundraising master program students

Arab American University Ramallah campus hosted the prime minister advisor Arab and Islamic Funds and Palestine’s representative in the administrative committee for both Al-Aqsa and Al-Quds Funds Minister Nasser Qatami. He met the Strategic Planning and Fundraising master students to discuss challenges in selecting projects to bring and distribute funds nationally.

Qatami gave a detailed explanation of the Arab Funds; their types, size of the provided support, challenges and obstacles faced by official bodies. Stressing, it’s importance to prepare project proposals to bring money and mentioned the sound mechanism to provide necessary support for national institutions advancement. Also projects selection and distribution nationally, and he provided a model for disbursement.

Part of Dr. Gary Mason Lecture on his experience in negotiation

Master's Program in Strategic Planning and Fundraising at the Arab American University in Ramallah hosted Dr. Gary Mason, from Northern Ireland a lecturer at the Kennedy Institute for Conflict and Peace Studies at University of Monmouth, Ireland, in a lecture for Dr. Dalal Erekat students.

In his lecture, Dr. Mason discussed his experience in the negotiations between Northern Ireland and Britain until the Good Friday Agreement between the parties in 1998.
