Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences at the University in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Creativity and Excellence organized a workshop entitled "How to prepare an Action Plan", hosted by Eng. Sari Taha.
The workshop explained how to prepare an action plan for investment or entrepreneurial projects, where this plan is considered to be a summarization of all the operational and financial objectives of the project, the action plan should contain detailed plans and budgets to achieve the objectives, it’s a roadmap in the business world.
American Heart Association, approves to renew the license of AAUP Heart Center for three years till 2022, this renewal came after passing all exams and monitoring of trainer by special committees of the General Administration of American Heart Association's in the Middle East.
The Dean of Faculty of Nursing Dr. Imad Abu Khader said that renewing the license and expanding its period work means providing the centers with the needed license for organizing specialized trainings for students, local community, and medical and health sector for another three years.
He explained that AAUP Heart Center that was established in 2016 works with a strategic plan for the next three years, mainly in organizing trainings that target all civilian and military institutions to qualify specialists with basic CPR skills and expanding this practice in the local community.
Dr. Laila Ghannam the Governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh opened the Royal Gym at Arab American University Campus – Ramallah. With the attendance of the Governor of the Palestinian Monetary Authority Mr. Azzam Al-Shawa, AAUP Chairman of BOD Dr. Yousef Asfour, Academic Advisor Prof. Waleed DeebProf, Board Member Mr. Baha Asfour, AAUP President Assistant Eng. Bara Asfour, and university staff and athletes.
The attendees were introduced to the latest equipment and devices at the gym, in addition to the services offered by the gym for those who wish to participate and use its facilities.
AAUP and TNB announced the signing of a fund agreement for student’s scholarships of doctoral program in business a joint program with Indiana University of Pennsylvania-USA, this came during a press conference held at AAUP campus- Ramallah. The agreement was signed by the two parties TNB General Manager Mr. Ahmad Hassan, President Assistant of AAUP Eng. Bara Asfour, with the attendance of TNB Chairman of Board of Directors Mr. Talal Nasser Eldin and AAUP Chairman of Boards of Directors Dr. Yousef Asfour, TNB board member Mr. Samer Ezraq, Academic Advisor Prof. Waleed Deeb.
Under the agreement, TNB will grant two scholarships with an amount of 100,000 USD which will be disbursed over a three years period as scholarships dedicated only for students in the Ph.D. program in Business with preference given to female students, with a condition that total GPA must not be less than 3.
Excellence for Climate Change and Environmental Technologies Center (ECCETC) organizes a scientific day at AAUP campus Ramallah, about Optimum use of water in agriculture by using new and modern technologies in this field.
This event aims to connect the scientific research with the Palestinian market needs in water field, with the participation of related Palestinian ministries, NGOs, the private sector and Palestinian universities.
Michelle de Vedson, an expert in the optimum use of water in agriculture, presented the scientific day in three main components, first climate excellence and the need to extract water for surface agriculture, second the foundations of smart agriculture and climate change.
During the ceremony that was held at Al-Quds University the partner universities Arab American University, Al-Quds University, and Polytechnic University announce the start of the joint Ph.D. program in IT Engineering the first of its kind in Palestine.
The ceremony was attended by the President of Al-Quds University Dr. Imad Abu Kishk, President of Polytechnic University Prof. Imad Al-Khatib, and from AAUP the VP of Planning and Quality Affairs Dr. Ahmed Sadaqa, representing AAUP President Prof. Ali Zaidan Abu Zuhri, and AAUP delegation. In addition to representatives of governmental, NGO and private institutions, and the accepted students of this program.
Head of Swiss Palestinian Association Mr. Jerry Moler Visits AAUP Campus at Ramallah, where he was introduced to the university’s academic programs for masters and doctoral degrees, in addition to the university’s training centers and its various facilities.
Dr. Dalal Iriqat , VP of International Relations welcomed the guest, where the discussed ways of collaborations between the two parties in several fields such as art, archiving, film making and conflict resolution.
Deanship of Students Affairs at AAUP organized a training course about Cultural Initiatives Management and Teamwork that targeted 35 students within 3 meetings.
Mr. Hazem Abu Helal gave the training course to the students from the Youth Partnership Forum of Art Center. The course topics was about how students can perform their initiatives within the needs of the Palestinian society, where students transform the ideas to reality, which enables them to enhance their capacity and empowerment, in addition to networking with other Palestinian universities and institutions.
Mr. Tayem Yassen the Head of Zimer Local Council from the Palestinian 1984 Territories visits the University, and is introduced to the programs and services offered for the students, as he checked on the Students Conditions that are from Zimer
Prof. Ali Abu Zuhri AAUP President, Dr. Hassan Yassin VP of Administration and Financial Affairs, VP of Academic Affairs Dr. Muayad abu Saah, Dr. Hazem Khanfar Dean of Admission and Registration and Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Bashar Daraghmeh all welcomed the guest.
Prof. Abu Zuhri gave an introduction about AAUP, and the Facilities and procedures offered for the new students and old ones for the new academic year 2019/2020.
Hebron University hosted Dr. Dalal Erikat from Faculty of Graduate Studies from AAUP to give a lecture for students taking “Palestine Question Course” with Dr. Musa Ajwih. Where Dr. Dalal talked about the Israeli Elections, its outcomes and impacts, as she focused on the role of Joint Arab Establishment in these elections.
It is worth mentioning that this course targets students from the Palestinian 1984 territories, that are 80 students coming from Al-Naqab.
During the lecture a discussion was held about the importance of the youth’s role and strategic thinking, as for the importance of the individual in seeking changes in order to hopefully change the political variables.
