The University participated in a forum for sports media, hosted by Muscat in the presence of lecturers and medias from various Arab countries. The main forum focused on sports culture and sustainable development.
Dr. Sabra Jarrar, a lecturer at Arab American University along with the President of the Palestinian Federation for Sports Culture in Palestine, presented the role of sports culture in forming the human awareness through a variety of variables that contribute well-being in the human’s life and existence through sport as a soft tool capable to commit the pillars of the 2030 Sustainable development plan in: Social, Environmental, and Economical aspects.
Arab American University hosted the final championship for the North Group of Al-Khamasiat Soccer for Palestinian Universities for males, organized by the Palestinian Federation for University Sports, where Arab American University team ranked first place, then Al-Najah University team came in second place
The head of the competitions committee in the Palestinian Federation of Palestinian Universities Hassan Nasif said that the championship started with a match between Al-Najah University and Palestine Technical Khadouri University, where Al-Najah won the game with a score of "2-1", the second game was between Palestine Technical Khadouri University and Arab American University, where AAUP won with a score of "10 - 2 ", and the third was between Arab American university and Al-Najah, where the game end with equal scores.
The President of Arab American University Prof. Ali Zidan Abu Zuhri welcomed the delegation from the Police Directorate of Jenin to discuss ways of cooperation to provide security and safety for students outside the campus and organizing traffic.
The delegation included the director of the Police Directorate Col. Nadi Halahleh, Head of Academic Affairs Dept at the Police station Col. Mansur Khuzaimia, Head of Traffic Dept at the Police Station in Jenin Col. Majdi Darwish. Whereas the VP for Administrative and Financial Affairs Mr. Faleh Abu Arrah, PR Manager Mr. Fathi Amour, and Head of the Security Dept. at the University Mr. Fakhri Jaradat also welcomed the delegation.
Arab American University represented by Dr. Dalal Erekat Vice President for International Relations and Challenge to Change institution for Women's Empowerment, registered in Switzerland, represented by the director of Palestine Branch Mrs. Sally Al-Shami signed a cooperation agreement.
The agreement through the institution, aims to empower female university students in various fields through training courses and leading programs that will help face the challenges and meet the demands of the labor market. The institution will also work to enhance the skills and abilities of the female students and transform challenges and obstacles into opportunities for positive change.
AAUP team has qualified for the third and final stage in PASS Competition, which is part of a program implemented by Leaders institution, funded by the Korean Agency for International Cooperation. The team consists of students and graduates from the faculties of Engineering & Information Technology, administrative and financial Sciences, where the team was selection among the top 10 leading projects national wide.
Other universities are also participating in the project as Al-Quds, Birzeit, Al-Najah, and Khadouri".
The idea of the project is to design a device that measures and analyzes ECG signals, using data mining techniques to predict the patient's heart disorder problems and to find a cure for it before complications occur.
Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center at AAUP hosted the first screening of "Out of Place ... Edward Saed" Inspired by his book "Out of Place ... Memoirs", in Ramallah campus, in the presence of the film's producer Ms. Heba Al-Borini.
Mrs. Rola Shahwan the Director of Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center opened the event with a speech explaining the importance of discussing the content of the film and connecting it to the philosophy and vision of the center.
After the film was screened, the producer explained that the film could not treat or display the whole heritage of Saed, but it highlighted the main phases that influenced his life since his arrival to the United States at age of 15 until his death.
The Regional Director of the Turkish Industrial Development Company in Jenin Mr. Othman Zaki Yalsen, expressed his great admiration of Arab American University and its contribution to the Palestinian market through the distinguished programs it offers. During his visit to the University campus in Ramallah. He was welcomed by the VP of International Relations Dr. Dalal Erekat.
Dr. Erekat gave an introductory presentation about the university, its establishment, vision of international connections, and bridging relations with international universities to exchange experiences and benefit from the experiences of other countries in different academic disciplines.
The Office of the Assistant President for Community Affairs at AAUP organized a workshop about culinary culture and French food, in partnership with the French Cultural Center of the French Consulate, the workshop hosted French media chef specialists Francois Roboth and Philippe Bourguignon, and the former general manager of Paris' most famous restaurants.
The workshop is part of the French Cooking Week in the Palestinian territories in its fifth edition.
The workshop was opened by the Assistant President of Community Affairs Dr. Iyad Dalbah, in a speech he welcomed the attendance, pointing out the importance of other cultures knowledge, assuring the benefit of networking between various international institutions and the university.
Arab American University celebrated the Down Syndrome International Day by organizing a workshop entitled “I am a part of you, & I am with you” sponsored by the Minister of Social Development Dr. Ibrahim Al-Sha’er, in cooperation with Al-Rahim Society for Down Syndrome "Love Syndrome". The aim of the workshop is to highlight the down syndrome that has suffered from ignorance and encouraging and supporting it.
Before the workshop, a meeting was held with Prof. Ali Zidan Abu Zuhri and the Minister of Social Development Dr. Sha’er, in the presence of the Governor of Jenin Major General Akram Rajoub, and Board Member of the University Dr. Raed Dalbah, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs Mr. Faleh Abu Arrah, Dean of both faculties of Allied Medical Sciences and Nursing Prof. Mohammed Asyiah, and Director of Public Relations Mr. Fathi Amour.
The Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University Campus in Ramallah organized a workshop about the Cyprus conflict and the Cyprus peace process hosting the representative of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Savas Vladimiro, as part of the "Peace Process Comparison" plan course which is taught by Dr. Dalal Erekat. Where the course contains study case for peace processes in Cyprus and Northern Ireland reaching to the Palestinian situation.
Dr. Dalal gave a brief overview of the course and focused on the methods of conflict analysis and how to put an outline to understand conflicts in different aspects, which includes theoretically several factors, reasons, approaches and directions. The representative of Cyprus skillfully applied the theory to reality by performing a presentation about Cyprus, He began with a historical view of the conflict and then the peace process and its stages.
