The second project was about a smart phone application works to improve the waste recycling (Green). The annual waste production in Palestine is almost 1.6 tons and 99% of this waste is being buried in dumps and the remaining 1% is recycled. Depending on this information, “Green” application is used to solve the waste problem in Palestine in a smart and sustainable way.
Under the auspices of Brigadier-General Tawfik Tirawi –Fatah Central Committee Member and the Head of the Board of Trustees of Al Istiqlal University, the subcommittee of the Laboratory Medicine Syndicate held its 2nd scientific day under the slogan “the path to laboratory informatics: devices, programs, safety and data management”.
General Jihad Abu AlAsal- Jericho Governor, Mr. Nae’l Abu Al Asal- Fatah Provincial Secretary in Jericho, Mr. Abdulsalam AlSarari- the deputy head of the Syndicate of Laboratory Medicine, representing Mr. Osama AlNajjar, the Head of the Syndicate, and over 550 participants from all subcommittees and members of the syndicates all attended the scientific day.
The Continuing Education Center in AAUP organized a ceremony to graduate 30 participants who participated in three courses in different periods, which are: “TOT Trainers Preparation”, “Preparation Course for IELTS” and “English Language Strengthening for School Students”.
Six participants joined in the “TOT Trainer Preparation” course, and were trained on the development matters in the education field and the educational supervision. Participants also were introduced to the local market needs for the Dentistry graduates and for the Solar Energy field workers. In addition to that, trainers also got training about the specifications of the service sector and institution workers, the skills of the professional trainer, the electronic intelligence, the computer languages and programming languages.
AAUP Medical Center -Ramallah Campus, sings a cooperation agreement with PALTEL “Jawwal” to provide medical services and laboratory tests to all PALTEL employees and their families in the center.
Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri- the University President and Mr. Abdul Majeed Melhem- the General Manager of PALTEL “Jawwal” signed the agreement with the presence of Eng. Bara Asfour- the Assistant to the President, Dr. Jumana Jaradat- the Executive Manager of the Medical Center, Prof. Hisham Darwish, Mr. Khalid Herzallah along with staff and managers from PALTEL.
Both the Faculty of Nursing and the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences in AAUP have honored their faculty and staff members for their dedication and hard work that resulted in many achievements including the Faculty of Nursing winning the Distinguish Institution Award 2019.
The Deanship of Student Affairs in AAUP and Shashat Institution celebrated the conclusion of Shashat 11th festival entitled “Let’s Watch a Movie” that was under the motto “I am Palestinian”. 20 films were screened during the festival with the attendance of AAUP students.
“Let’s Watch a Movie” festival is a cultural and community related project that started three years ago and is funded by the European Union, the Switzerland institution CFD and Poland Representative in Palestine.
The Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences in AAUP has participated in an international conference entitled “Educational Technology” that was organized by the International Academy for Management in Florida – USA.
AAUP was represented by both Prof. Aysar Sussan who presented a paper entitled “Challenges Facing e-learning; as an Important Trend in Globalizing Education” and Dr. Sharif AbuKarsh who presented a paper about “The New Era of the Financial Technology in the Banking Sector”.
“Al Khan Al Ahmar” film got nominated to compete among 20 other Arabic and foreign films in the 5th Wasit International Film Festival, the musician Nasser Shamma course.
The festival management team announced that they chose 20 Arabic and foreign films out of the 350 films that were submitted, those 20 films will participate in the official competition for the 5th edition of the festival.
The film is about the suffering of Al Khan Al Ahmar village as a result of the Israeli attack that aims to evacuate all it residents. The film focuses on the resilience of Al Khan School and its children.
Aiming to enhance relations and academic collaboration between both universities and working for future experience and students mobility, the Faculty of Graduate Studies in AAUP organized an academic meeting between graduate students in the Conflict Resolution program in AAUP and BA, Masters and PhD Students from the program “Conflict Analyzing and Resolution” from George Mason University in Virginia- Washington.
Dr. Dalal Iriqat- the VP for International Relations said that AAUP is planning to start an academic collaboration with George Mason University, especially that George Mason University is considered to be a leader in conflict analyzing and resolution. Dr. Iriqat explained that the strategy and policy of AAUP is to always seek to build international academic relations that include students and faculty mobility with international universities to enrich the Palestinian academic experience by learning from others experiences.
The Pharmacy students in AAUP have organized a scientific field trip to Al Quds Pharmaceutical Company in Ramallah aiming to be introduced to the work mechanisms of this medical company.
Dr. Tha’er Abdel Ghani- the Head of the Pharmacy Department has accompanied students in their trip. He indicated that the goal of this visit is for students to have an idea about the Palestinian pharmaceutical companies, their work mechanisms, the pharmaceutical production lines, how the production lines are working according to pharmaceutical quality standards and the best ways to maintain a clean and safe industrial environment.
