The researcher, Ola Walid Ahmed Adawi, a student of strategic planning in the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University Ramallah Campus, discussed her thesis entitled (The impact of the National Development Plan from 2014 till 2016 on the economic empowerment of the Palestinian women).
In her study, the researcher focused on the economic empowerment interventions of the institutions that represent the national sectors that are related to the economic empowerment of women and addressed the women who benefit from the implementation of the plans in the community.
The director of the orthodontic program at Arab American University, Dr. Imad Abdul Khaliq, participated in the Orthodontics Conference of Mediterranean countries, held recently in Alexandria Egypt, with the participation of the world's leading lecturers.
Dr. Abdul Khaliq presented a research paper entitled "Modern methods of diagnosis and treatment for facial asymmetry and occlusion in orthodontics". The participants expressed the advanced level that the Arab American University has reached to, especially in the orthodontic program, where treatments are made through the latest scientific methods.
The University hosted the regular meeting of the Council of Student Affairs Deans in the Palestinian Universities. In meeting they discussed the latest developments and joint activities between universities in the presence of a delegation from the Palestinian police.
The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the Board of Student Affairs Deans of its current session, Dr. Bashar Daraghmeh Dean of Student Affairs at Arab American University, welcoming the audience. As he pointed out that many topics will be discussed, the most important of which are the joint activities for the academic year 2018/2019, the latest developments with the Ministry of Education regarding the Lending Fund, following-up regarding the unified constitution of the Student Union Council and discuss the cooperation initiative between the Palestinian police and universities.
The Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center at the Arab American University in Ramallah held a workshop entitled "National policies in light of environment change and its impact on national security " in cooperation with the Water Authority, Environmental Quality Authority, Energy Authority and Eco Palestine and with the attendance of representatives of official institutions and civil society.
The workshop was opened by a member of the Board of Directors from Policies and Conflict Resolution Studies Center at the University, Dr. Iyad Yacoub, were he welcomed the attendees. As he also discussed the role of the Center in the field of research in national policies in its various fields.
Arab American University Journal of Research obtained first place in the classification of the Arab impact factor for the year 2018, where it obtained an impact factor of 3.07, which is a great achievement for scientific research in the university in particular and Palestine in general.
The Arab Impact Factor provides a quantitative and qualitative assessment of the quality and reliability of specialized Arabic journals in all fields of knowledge. This impact is a measure of the importance of scientific journals within their field of research.
It also reflects the extent of new research referring to previously published research in the journal and cites it. The Journal of Higher Impact Factor is therefore more important and more reliable in the specialized scientific community.
The University celebrated the graduation of MA students in conflict resolution and development program, literature and intercultural communication, quality management, strategic planning and fundraising, computer science and commercial law at the University in Ramallah campus. The Kermalak project team won first place in the creativity competition which was held at Hassib Al-Sabbagh Center for Information Technology Excellence / Arab American University,
Where the qualified team was given $ 5,000 to help launch their new project. Hassib Al Sabbagh Center with the partnership of Ibdaa Co. have finished 12 training course, the trainings were finished by presenting a series of pilot projects, which were evaluated by a committee of judges: Eng. The Faculty of Law at the University, in cooperation with Defense of Liberties and Civil Rights Center, organized a workshop for the students of the faculty entitled " Torture is a humiliation of dignity" This workshop is part of a project implemented by the Center supported by the European Union for three years.
The Dean of Faculty of Law Dr. Ghassan Alian, attended the workshop along with the Director of Defense of Liberties and Civil Rights Center, Mr. Hilmi Al-Aaraj, and the Legal Advisor of the Center Mr. Alaa Badarneh.
The University and the Palestinian Medical Relief Society organized an awareness- workshop on the annual detection of breast cancer, entitled "Check Now, hope and Safety" in cooperation with Al-Matala Hospital.
The Dean of the Faculties of Allied Medical Sciences and Nursing, Dr. Mohammed Asia, attended the workshop along with the Director of the Palestinian Medical Relief Society in Jenin, Jamil Al-Hamad, the representative of Al-Mutala hospital in Jerusalem Dr. Ahmed Abu Halawa, and the Director of Women's Health Programs in Medical Relief Dr. Khadija Jarrar.
The activities were launched by a marching show involving the Zababda marching team, which toured around the university. Where banners were raised emphasize the need to check and detect earlier breast cancer.
