Al Safa Islamic Bank and Arab American University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Educational and Training Financing Program ("Darajat") in the framework of their efforts to support the educational process and facilitate students' study in Islamic Sharia'a compliant programs.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Nidal Al Barghouthi, General Manager of Al-Safa Bank and Mr. Faleh Abu Arra, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, representing Arab American University.
The Education and Training Finance program is rated as Sharia-compliant and provides up to 100 percent of the total tuition fees. It allows for monthly payments up to 72 months and gives students the freedom to choose the educational service approved by the bank. In addition, the program is available for all stages of education from school to postgraduate and professional training certificates.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arab American University Dr. Yousef Asfour, welcomed the Governor along with the President of the University Prof. Ali Zidan Abu Zuhri, the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs Mr. Faleh Abu Ara, the Board members Mr. Bahaa Asfour, Dr. Raed Dalbah and Public Relations Manager Mr. Fathi Amor, to discuss ways of cooperation with the Governor of Jenin, Major General Akram Rajoub who was recently been promoted to his new positon.
The Chairman Dr. Asfour congratulated the governor of Jenin Major General Rajoub for his new position governorate wishing him success in the interest of maintaining and developing Jenin towards achieving safety and security in the town, social and economic stability. Praising the role he played during his tenure in Jenin.
The President of the University Prof. Ali Zidan Abu Zuhri briefed the Governor on the reality of the university in terms of colleges and its students and their needs, which require cooperation with the governorate and official institutions.
The Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center at Arab American University, Ramallah Campus, organized a workshop entitled "The National Archive between Reality and the Future", which included representatives of official institutions, civil society and a number of academics interested in archiving and national narratives.
The workshop emphasizes the importance of the archive in preserving the collective memory and national identity, its role in writing history and building a narrative of the Palestinian biography based on its primary sources, especially in view of the increasing number of institutions working on collecting this archive in its various tangible and intangible fields.
Arab American University is one of the academic monuments that have become known for its academic, cultural and scientific life in Palestine, and the presence of the university in Palestine is a source of pride for the Palestinians," said the Minister of Culture Ihab Bseiso.
Where Dr. Ihab Bseiso was invited to a lecture organized by Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies Center at the university, that targeted master's programs students entitled "The Role of Culture in Promoting the Palestinian National Identity". The representative of the Republic of India to Palestine Mr. Aneesh Rajan, visited the University campus in Ramallah to discuss the means of academic and research cooperation, as he was introduced to the university and its academic programs in bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. In addition to discussing a number of ideas to open horizons of cooperation between the university and Indian universities, and the implementation of joint programs.

The President of Arab American University, Prof. Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri, honored the students from the Faculty of Sport Science whom represented the Palestinian national football team in a number of international, continental and regional championships.

The Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. Khayriah Rasas visited Arab American University in Ramallah campus, where the chairman of boards of directors Dr. Yusuf Asfour, welcomed her along with the University President Prof. Ali Zidan Abu Zuhri, and the Academic Advisor Prof. Walid Dieb, and Head of Administrative and Financial Affairs Mr. Faleh Abu Orah, and the Manger of Medical Center Dr. Jumana Jaradat.
During her visit, Prof. Abu Zuhri gave a detailed presentation to the Prime Minister's Advisor about the University's goals, its vision of higher education and its academic programs in the PhD, MA and BA.
The Center for Continuing Education at the University hosted the businessman Shaddad Khanfar in a lecture entitled "Success Story", organized in cooperation with the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences at the University.
During his visit, the President of Arab American University Professor Ali Zidan Abu Zuhri met with the guest and gave him a presentation about the establishment of the university and its difficulties. He also referred to the academic programs in the bachelor's and master's degrees, noting that the university hosts the successful personalities to convey their experiences to the students and benefit from their experiences when they work in the labor market.
The Deanship of Student Affairs at Arab American University organized heritage events, to include two exhibitions of handicrafts, art works and local products, as they also presented some caricatures drawings for the martyr cartoonist Naji Al-Ali under the title "According to Handhala’s narrative" which took place for three days.
The exhibition was opened by the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Bashar Daraghmeh, in the presence of his assistant Professor Muhammad Kamil, and the employee of Cultural and Artistic Activities dept., Ms. Joanna Al-Hafi.
The Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Daraghmeh assured the importance of adhering the Palestinian heritage and its transmission through generations. This is the responsibility of the University to organize heritage events, exhibitions and other related matters.
The President of the University, Prof. Ali Zidan Abu Zuhri honored the student Qassam Mohammed Sbaih from Kafura’i Secondary School for Boys, the third place winner of distinguished Student Category in the Arab Reading Challenge Competition 2017/2018.
The ceremony was attended by the vice presidents and The Deanship of Student Affairs and director of the university library, and the father of student Sbaih and his family.
During the ceremony, Prof. Abu Zuhri congratulated the students and his family on this achievement. Saying "You, Qassam, are an example of Palestinian youth that’s eager to learn, read, that takes things seriously and diligently what you have achieved is an achievement for education and culture in Palestine, we at Arab American University believe that knowledge and education are the key to building societies and enhancing the establishment of a Palestinian state, we honor you today for your visit to the university.
