> “Ana Jawwal” team organized a closure celebration at the Arab American University for the training program of “Our day is greater with our team Al-Fida’i” among the contest between the Palestinian universities to get the first place at this program.
Dr. Orwah Hoshyeh- a researcher at the Arab American University and a Professor at the Chemistry Department won a fund from the International Agency for Atomic Energy in order to prepare his research: How to use radioactive isotopes to reduce soil erosion in Palestine and find solutions. Dr. Hoshyeh said: “This research will analyse the soil and its degradation and then will use the best radioactive isotopes to protect the lands and the soil’s fertility.
The Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University celebrated the first thesis discussion for Aseel Kmail, the first graduate from the Computer Science Master Program at the university. Her masters’ thesis was about “inserting meaningful terms to make CVs more adjusted to the job vacancies’ announcements and classify them according to the employees needs”.
The Arab American University magazine was the first Palestinian university magazine to get the Arab Impact Factor that is considered a great achievement for the scientific research in Palestine. The Arab impact factor provides quality and quantity evaluation for the Arab magazines that are specialized in different fields. This factor indicates the importance of the scientific magazines and reflects how much new researches mention information and data from old researches.
The Arab American University hosted a group of pioneer Palestinian youth that visited the university to introduce their success stories and experiments through an introductory workshop called “Path to success” that was organized by the graduate affairs department of the V.P for the Community Affairs office with collaboration with Qeyadat institution. V.P for Community Affairs- Dr. Nizam Thiab indicated that the university always builds good relations with active institutions because the university believes in the extracurricular activities.
The Arab American University concluded the 20-hours training course that was planned for the administrative employees under the name “Communication” that was organized by the V.P for Community Affairs’ office, and the trainee was Mr. Saéed AbuMaála- the professor at the Faculty of Arts. This course was for all administrative employees to achieve the ISO standards that the university is committed to, and it concentrated on the positive motives for the employees in their work and lives, how to resolve their problems and how to work best among a team.
The Arab American University participated along with many local and international companies at a conference called “GIS in Palestine 2016” that was organized by the International American Company Aceri in Ramallah.
The conference aimed to highlight the latest advancements in the GIS field and to introduce the different institutions that are working in developing this system.
Professor Ali Zeidan AbuZuhri- the Arab American University president received the Palestinian ministry of agriculture Dr. Sufian Sultan who visited the university in order to discuss collaboration means in the field of agriculture researches.
Professor AbuZuhri gave a detailed explanation about the university, its faculties, academic programs in masters and bachelors, its goals and its continues seek to benefit the country and serve the community.
The vice-president for International Relations at the Arab American University Dr. Mufid Qassom received a delegation from Axel municipality of Belgium who visited the university. The delegation contained Mr. Hisham Bomizig- the International Relations Manager at Axel municipality. The delegation was received by Dr. Nizam Thiab- the vice-president for Community Affairs and Dr. Osama Salameh- the vice-president for Planning and Development.
The second semester of the academic year 2015/2016 at the Arab American University has started, and over 9000 students started their new semester at the different faculties. Professor Ali Zeidan AbuZuhri congratulated students and welcomed them for returning to the university, indicating that the university is much more beautiful when students are all over places and buildings. He indicated that they feel proud of the students and wished them a fruitful academic year.
