Bank of Palestin hosted students from both the Arab American University and Al-Quds Open University who participated at the training program “Tamayoz”. Students met the direct sales officer – Hasan I’wais who explained the banking work and the banking services.
The Graduate Affairs department at the Arab American University with cooperation with the Palestinian Education for Employment Foundation organized a training course about how to use Intel international programs to establish pioneer projects for students. 31 students attended the symposium that was supervised by the trainer Shadi Sharif. The Head of the Graduate Affairs department – Bilal AlAshqar indicated that this training encourages the pioneer work spirit for students.
Dr. Rami AlHamd Allah- the Prime Minister had a meeting during his last visit to the university with members of the students’ union at the Arab American University with the presence of Dr. Mohammad Ishtayeh- the Head of the Board of Trustees and Professor Ali Zaidan- the University President.
Professor Ali Zaidan- the university president received a delegation from the local government in Jenin. The General Manager at the Local Governmenr, Eng. Khalaf gave Prof. Ali Zaidan a detailed explanation about the constructional planning around the university. Eng. Kahlaf asserted on the importance of those investments and mentioned the obstacles that are facing them.
The Faculty of Administration and Financial Sciences discussed means of joint cooperation with United Securities Co in order to exchange experiences and to organize combined workshops and scientific lectures. Mr. Amjad Alawneh- the United Securities Co Manager visited the university and was received by Dr. Sharif AbuKarsh- the Dean of the Faculty along with other members of the faculty. Mr. Alawneh visited an accounting lecture and explained the mission and the vision of the United Securities Co to students.
The Arab American University organized a photography fair about “child labour” with cooperation with the Palestinian Women Association for Entrepreneurship and Creativity. The fair contained 73 photos took by the Arabic Language and Media Department. The exhibition aimed to highlight the students’ talents and creativity in photography, and to engage them at the local community’s concerns and problems.
The Graduate Affairs Department at the Arab American University organized a training course under collaboration with Palestinian Education for Employment Foundation about the kills in finding a job under the name “finding a job is a job”. The training contained 38 students of the university. Dr. Nitham Thiab started the symposium by asserting on the importance of this training course for the newly graduate students as it comes especially at the time that graduate students couldn’t find jobs easily, and the unemployment rate is really high.
The Arab American University hosted the Palestinian businessman and writer Mr. Sam Bahour who visited the university to give a lecture about “development under occupation from a Palestinian perspective” for the Msters of Conflict Resolution students. This lecture is an initiative step from Dr. Dalal Ireqat who gives “the Conflict, Peace and Development” masters course at the university. The lecture aimed to give students the chance to think and analyze in a positive critical way.
The office of the vice-president for Community Affairs and the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology organized a workshop about Business entrepreneur in Palestine: between reality and prospective. This workshop is part of the Palestinian week for entrepreneur and working 2015. It aims to discuss the business entrepreneur in Palestine and encourage students to find creative ideas and implement competition on the local, Arabic and international level.
The university celebrated the GIS international day of the year 2015 by organizing a scientific symposium with collaboration with the Applied Science University and the Islamic University in Gaza. Mr. Sami Awad welcomed the presents and expressed his appreciation to celebrate this international day that gathered academic institutions from the West Bank and Gaza, with the participation of local and international researchers and specialists.
