Confirming that the university is ambitious, works hard with all its power to establish IT infrastructure emulates great international foundations and organizations to be fully functional to its tasks high efficiency and fulfill students, staff and faculty members needs.
Microsoft gave a brief on the university “Founded in 2000, The Arab American University (AAU) in Jenin is the first private Palestinian university. AAUP provides quality education for students from different parts of the region. Collaborating with California State University and Utah State University, AAUP aspires to be a leader in higher education by serving the educational needs of its students within a dynamic learning atmosphere that inspires innovation and personal success”.
AAUP Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology student Rand Khalil Ibrahim was Chief Executive Officer of PADICO Company, for one day, as part of the initiative “Yalla Shabab” implemented by Sharek Youth Forum in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund under the supervision of PADICO CEO Mr. Samir Hleleh.
Arab American University and Palestinian Land Authority discussed cooperation in training university students to archive newspapers, digitizing lands maps and benefit from the university and its staff expertise in geographic information systems and programs to develop the Authority work.
The Palestinian Land Authority visiting delegation included General Director for information systems Mr. Nihad Awad, Projects department manager Mr. Rami Thaher, Data and Electronic archiving Director Mr. Abdullah Omar and Director of Land Registration department in Jenin Mr. Sameer Al-Souqi. Arab American University faculty of Engineering and Information Technology in cooperation with the Palestinian Incubators for Communication and Information Technology “PICTI” held a workshop for university students on the mechanism to develop and promote entrepreneurial businesses.
The workshop aims to introduce students to the mechanism of picking their graduation project and turn them into entrepreneur business, in the presence of AAUP Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology Dean Dr. Mohammad Hamarsheh and PalestinianIncubators for Communication and Information TechnologyRepresentative Dr. Maher Alawneh.
“IDEA” Business Incubators for supporting small projects signed a memorandum of cooperation with Hassib Sabbagh Information Technology Center of Excellence at AAU. The memorandum comes as part of economic recovery project implemented by Palestinian Consultative Commission for developing non-governmental institutions PCS to contribute in social and economic empowerment for youth and marginalized groups, provide business development for entrepreneurs and innovators in establishing and developing small economic projects.
The memorandum was a supportive move for continues partnership among Palestinian Higher Education sector and civil society organizations and the two parties different roles in build and support Palestinian economical sector especially youth’s sector.
The memorandum includes the two parties cooperate to support small Information Technology projects sector in Jenin, provide technical and financial support to the projects owners in terms of ideas development and preparing business and market plans, provide grants and loans and building in entrepreneurial and business concepts.
Arab American University President Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri welcomed the German Academic Exchange Service organization “DAAD” Jerusalem Office Manager Christina Stahlbock who visited the university to enhance academic and scientific research cooperation between the two parties and introducing the scholarships requirements at German and Jordanian universities offered by the organization.
The university President met the organization manager in the presence of Vice President for Training Affairs Dr. Nizam Diab. Dr. Abu Zuhri presented detailed explanation for the manager of the DAAD’s Jerusalem office on AAU, its faculties and academic programs, discussing ways to enhance cooperation, academic and student exchanges, scientific research projects between the university and the organization and mechanism for developing and increase the awarded scholarships size.
Arab American University Alumni Affairs department organized a training workshop entitled “Aks Alseer”, targeting university students and graduates presented by lecturer at Faculty of Art Mr. Fadi Juma.
The workshop aimed to qualify students to involve in the labor market, how to manage stress and the mechanism of dealing with people
Head of Alumni Affairs department at Student Affairs Deanship Mr. Bilal Al Ashqar opened the workshop with a speech welcoming attendees, pointing to its importance in enhancing participants’ skills and prepare them to enroll in labor market. He mentioned that AAUP seeks to provide all possibilities in order to develop university students' and graduates experiences.
AAUP Continuing Education Department concluded a number of English Conversation courses, the preparatory course for the IELTS test and Training of Trainers (ToT) for fitness and bodybuilding trainers’ first level.
Continuing Education Department employee Ms. Shatha Al Ahmad said, this preparing course for the International British IELTS aims to rehabilitation its participants for the exam held at the British consulate soon, the language specialist Mr. Yahya Aqeel was the trainer.

Arab American University in its Ramallah city site welcomed a delegation of Public Relations and Media Directors in the Civil & Security Organization, the delegation visited the site to check its progress and look into cooperation and partnership in common interest issues.
