Researcher Hala Masoud, student at AAUP Faculty of Graduate Studies, defended her thesis in Commercial Law entitled: “Mortgage as Bank Guaranty in Palestinian Legislation”.

In her thesis, researcher discussed mortgage in Palestine as the most important guaranty, stressing that with the rise of housing prices and individuals’ incapability to provide enough money to buy one, banks are providing it, by mortgaging a property the client owns as a guarantee for the bank’s right so that the customer repays the loan.

Organized by Iqra Intelligence Mental Calculations Academy

Arab American University hosted the National Mental Calculations Competition organized by Iqra Intelligence Mental Account Academy (IMA) under the Ministry of Higher Education’s supervision. 150 child from various centers in West Bank participated, the competition coincided with another held in Gaza Strip where 500 Childs from Gaza’s Intelligence Mental Account centers.

AAUP Faculty of Science Dean & Head of Mathematics Department Dr. Abdul Halim Ziqan, General Director for Intelligence Mental Academy Dr. Mohammad Hamarsheh, Ministry of Higher Education Representative Dr. Jihad Nazzal, and Director of Iqra Intelligence Mental Calculations Academy in Jenin Dr. Rasha Hamarsheh and a number of center’s teachers and directors all attended the competition.

Researcher Salah Jabarin, student at AAUP Faculty of Graduate Studies, defended his thesis in Computer Science entitled: “Communication and Accuracy in Private Networks”.

Researcher Jabarin discussed in his thesis on private bilateral communication networks that have distinctive and unique privacy, stressing on the need for protocols able to manage network and ensure high level of accuracy, communication and provide suitable quality and quantity service. The researcher simulated and evaluated four of the protocols, designed to deal with private networks.

Researcher Reem Azouqa, Commercial Law student at AAU’s Faculty of Graduate Studies, defended her Master thesis master thesis entitled “Buyer's right to terminate contract and Seller’s right to reform when breach in the commitment implementation occur”.

Her research discussed the buyer's right to terminate the sale contract in accordance with the Vienna Convention on International Sales, according to the descriptive and analytical approach comparative, in addition to discussing the seller’s right to reform when the breach in the commitment implementation occur.

The thesis found a number of useful results in this regard, especially in the context of the State of Palestine attempt to join this agreement and WTO agreements.

AAUP in cooperation with Leaders Organization arrange “Arab American University Hackathon”, targeting a number of young entrepreneurs from both Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences in order to come out with entrepreneur projects to be embraced and supported to become successful youth projects and companies.

Head of Alumni Affairs at Student Affairs Deanship Bilal Alashqar, opened the event, thanking the Organization's efforts and the supporters of this unique event. He also praised the young participants’ role that’s in harmony with the university vision of engaging students, broaden their experience and merge them with the community to be active in facing challenges

Researcher Abdulmin’em Abu Hasan Arab American University student at Graduates Faculty defended his Master research in Computer Science field entitled “Analyzing Fraud and Phishing Attacks via the internet and develop prevention techniques”.

Researcher Abu Hasan discussed in his research on online phishing attacks, solutions and defense mechanisms that can be taken to reduce or prevent it from happening , these attacks aims to deception users to reveal their personal information like passwords or credit card number, pointing to developing three ways to solve and those phishing the 1st depends on adding new level at the authentication process that uses a user's mobile phone as a second authentication, in addition to a user name and password.

Arab American University hosted the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Strategic Affairs Consultant in a political seminar entitled “Palestinian Reality and Foresight the Future – Strategic Vision”, attended by a number of university’s professors and students. This seminar comes as a part of Presidency program to communicate with Palestinian universities and their students based on partnership and responsibility.

University President Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri, AAUP Vice President for Training Affairs Dr. Nizam Diab, University Ramallah headquarter Dr. Mohammad Sba’neh, President and members of Students Union Council and the Public Relations crew at AAUP all welcomed Dr. Zamlat.

Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences Dean Prof. Aysar Sussan participated in international scientific conference entitled “The International Academy of Business and Public Administration Disciplines”, organized earlier at American state of Florida.

Prof. Sussan presented a research paper entitled “Cultural Differences and Social Dynamic to measure Expatriate Performance”. He also moderated a scientific session on Managing Working Forces, along with discussing scientific researches on education technology.

Arab American University welcomed Director of the Palestinian European Cooperation mission in Higher Education, the Director of "Erasmus" program grant in Palestine Dr. Nedal Al Jayousi and founder of the Jerusalem American International School Mr. Ross Piraeus, who visited AAUP headquarters in Ramallah city to give a seminar for Conflict Resolution and Development program graduate students in the course of Conflict Theory taught by Dr. Ayman Yousef.

Dr. Yousef started the seminar, stressing on the importance of cooperation between Arab American University and both active Palestinian institutions and characters in order to consolidate the concepts and tools to solve Palestinian society disputes as a whole and Master students at Conflict Theory course in particular.

Deanship of Student Affairs at Arab American University organized an introductory workshop on the Online Recruitment Portal called “Palestine Ta3mal”, a project of Sharek Youth Forum, with support of the Qatari “Silatech” Organization, 40 senior students participated in it.

This workshop aimed to introduce students with the portals available services and how to enhance their skills.
