Her Excellency Governor of Ramallah and Al Bireh Governate Dr. Laila Ghannam said: “Arab American University in Ramallah and Jenin is a model of educational institute with various unique and new specializations in Palestine both in its master and undergraduate degrees. This will give a big boost to fill in the increasing and rapid needs of local community in the tremendous technological and scientific development in various critical areas”.
She added I’m proud of the Arab American University which managed to make its own bath complementary to other Palestinian universities to form together a factory to refine younger generations in many disciplines to lead and service their people and build their independent state after graduating from universities.
Arab American University hosted the first stage of the Fifth International Palestine Marathon entitled "Run for Freedom", in cooperation with the Organizing Committee of the Marathon.
Runners started after the starting sign where given by the University President Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri in front of the university presidency building.
Arab American University in cooperation with Leaders Organization organized a workshop on 3G technology and how to benefit from it once it’s released in Palestine with the presence of upcoming graduates.
Head of Alumni Affairs at Student Affairs Deanship Mr. Bilal Al Ashqar stressed on the importance of such activities to expand the students’ horizons and enrich their experience. Also he pointed to extracurricular activities contribute to develop students' abilities and involve them in various events and developmental programs.
Arab American University President Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri meets a delegation from Al-Najah University. The delegation visited the university to get a close look on its academic and social experience and to strengthen the two universities joint cooperation.
The delegation was headed by Al-Najah University Assistant President of Community Affairs Dr. Adnan Melhem along with Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Mousa Abu Daya, Head of Alumni Affairs Dr. Rafa’ Daraghmeh, Head of the Al-Najah University Workers Union Dr. Bassem Mansour and a number of its members.
Arab American University announce launching its annual Award for excellence in Scientific Research for Palestinian universities researchers for the year 2017. The award comes to encourages the university’s pioneer role of supporting scientific research in Palestine, improve scientific researches quality for faculty members and researchers from Palestinian universities, support genuine scientific researches and honoring researchers’ for their scientific and searching efforts that is published or approved to be in prestigious scientific journals with outstanding reputation.
AAU’s Heart and Breathing Resuscitation Center first center in northern Palestine to get the international accreditation certificate from the American Heart Association. Recently, AAUP upgraded the center to provide everything advanced in the fields of higher education, academic programs and international education tools.
University President Dr. Ali Abu Zuhri congratulated this accomplishment, saying: “For AAUP Cardiac and Breathing Resuscitation Center to get this international accreditation certificate is one more step towards excellency that we’re familiarized as it’s our academic journey logo. Also it’s a chance to apply international methods and concepts for students to prepare them properly for local and international work market.
Arab American University along with Jenin’s Police to start an initiatives entitled “Community Police Role to Empower Justice and Rule of Law”
During the lecture held in AAUP a number of significant character including Deputy Governor of Jenin Kamal Aboalrob, Jenin’s Police Chief Mohanad Sawan, Jenin’s Mufti Sheikh Mohammad Abualrob, Head of Traffic Police Majdi Darweesh, PR and Media Manager for Jenin’s district Police Auos ‘Aitaniy, Representative of Students Affairs Dean Dr. Ali Zakarneh, AAU’s PR Manager Mr. Fathi Amoury and University’s Social Worker Dr. Laila Herzallah.
AAUP Nursing College and Palestinian Ministry of Health’s Nursing Department graduated the second cohort of “Intensive Children Nursing” course.
The course aims to enrich children departments nursing staff’s with advanced academic knowledge, which helps providing better care for children in hospitals. 17 working nurses from hospitals and governmental health centers participated in the 30 hrs. training.
Arranging the course is part of joint work and MoU between Nursing Faculty and Nursing General Administration to develop Health Ministry’s Nursing staff efficiency.
Maryam Jaradat, AAUP Commercial Law Master Student, discussed her master thesis entitled “Trademark’s Illegal competition lawsuit”.
The researcher analyzed trademark’s illegal competition using Analytical method then compared West Bank’s laws in force especially commercial law No. 33 of 1953 with illegal competition and Jordanian Industrial secrets law No. 15 of 2000 and Jordanian amended Trademark Law along with bunch of related laws.
Anwar Tawfiq Alkhader, AAUP Master Student specialized in Applied Mathematics, discussed her Master thesis entitled: “Studying the impact of change in the processes of generating and specifying to solve partial differential equations using multi-mode network”.
In her thesis, Alkhader found that the increase in ranks of generating and specifying more than 2 gives a slight decrease in approximation error ratio with significant increase in computer operations. It has been applied on different Poisson's equations.
By the end, the committee consisting of Dr. Eyad Swan Head of Committee and thesis supervisor, Internal Examiner from AAUP Dr. Abdul Haleem Zieqan and External Examiner from Palestine Politicnic University Dr. Amjad Barham decided to give Alkhader a Master Degree in Applied Mathematics.
