A group from Al-Jadeda Secondary School visited the Arab American University through an educational field trip to make a scientific experience at the physics labs of the university. Teaching staff and 47 of the tenth grade students were among the group.
The committee at the International GITEX Exhibiter admired the efforts that three students from the faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the Arab American University students put on their project that was presented at the United Arab Emirates.
The deanship of the students’ affairs at the Arab American University organized an educational symposium under the name of “Internet – a dangerous reality and a free media world” in order to rise the students’ awareness to the dangerous of the social networks from a religious, health and security aspects. Laila Herzallah- the social worker at the University started the symposium and indicated that the university always seeks to organize such a great educational courses and symposiums for its students. She also asserted that many risks come from the internet.
The sports’ department at the Deanship of the Students’ Affairs concluded the soccer championship of the faculties and the clubs of the university by crowning the sport science team at the first place. This championship is part of the deanship activities that was organized by the sports activities department with the participation of 15 teams from the different faculties and clubs.
Ibdaa’ corporation under cooperation with Haseeb Al-Sabagh Centre for Information Technology at the Arab American University organized a USAID financed workshop about the intellectual property. Students of different faculties along with professors attended and participated at the workshop. Mr. Imad Wald Ali- the head of Haseeb Al-Shabagh centre started the workshop by assisting on such activities to improve students’ knowledge.
The graduate affairs department at the Arab American University opened the first training course with collaboration with the international youth foundation. The course meant to train students of the university and introduce them to the first electronic employment gate “Palestine works”. Dr. Nitham Thiab- the vice president for the community affairs and Bilal Al-Ashqar- the head of the graduate affairs department received the representatives of the international youth foundation and praised their efforts on program and the projects that benefit students.
The faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the Arab American University finished the preparations for the International Collegiate Programming Contest that is organized by the International ACM and will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday (27,28/10/2015). This contest contains group international universities that hosted regional and national contests and worked on developing the teams’ abilities, and 2500 universities of almost 100 countries will participate at the final international contest.
The graduate affairs department announced that the training program “Tamayoz” has started at the Arab American University and the first training course will be under the name “communication skills” with the participation of 47 students from both the Arab American University and Al-Quds Open University in Jenin with the trainer Wisam Shwaiky.
The Palestinian soccer team for juniors lost a match with the Yemen team for juniors (2-0) during the first match among the Asian qualifiers for juniors under 16 years old on the Arab American University court with the presence of Jebril AlRjoub- the Head of the Palestinian Football Federation, Professor Ali AbuZuhri- the Arab American University President, Dr. Yousef Asfour- the head of the Board of Directors and Mr. Mustafa AlSahli- the Head of the Yemeni delegation.
The Arab American University has started a training course under the name “A passport to success” with the cooperation of the International Youth institution. The 11th cycle of this training course that was organized by the Graduate Affairs Unit contained 25 students The course aims to develop the personal qualifications and personalities to students and develop their skills in getting a job through knowing the best work practices.
