The researcher Shafaq Abu al-Huth, a student of computer science at the Higher Studies College of the Arab American University, discussed her thesis titled “Exploring Heritage Sites using multiple-clients’ systems technology” in order to obtain her master's degree.
The student talked about an intelligent system which explores the heritage sites by relying on the actions of visitors, previous information and the changes in the time of visits, as the system works to cope with the changes through the use of multiple-clients' systems.
The President of the Arab American University, Professor Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu-Zuhri discussed with Professor Khaldoun Zreiq from the University of Paris VIII ways of joint cooperation between both universities, in the presence of by Dr Abdulrahman Abu-Libdeh the Dean of Higher Studies College and Dr Amjad Al-Ratrout the Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology.
Both sides discussed ways of cooperation between the Arab American University and the University of Paris VIII to establish a network of researchers from the two universities. They also discussed the possibility of holding the Fourth International Conference for the Digital Heritage on the Arab American University campus in May of the next year, and to be held in collaboration with the University of Paris VIII, and in partnership with the Tunisian National School of Design.
The final results of the exam for practicing dentistry in the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948, showed excellence and superiority of the graduates of the Faculty of Dentistry at the Arab American University, where the students applying for the exam had achieved a success rate that reached to 95%
Saleh Sharqawi, one of the students who succeeded the examination said: “The total university graduates who applied for the exam for practicing dentistry totaled to 51 students and 48 of them managed to pass it."
He added that these excellent results did not surprise the applying students since they have the scientific and academic significant level, and had practical training on whatever is new in the science of dentistry in addition to the overall provision of modern clinics and sophisticated devices during the years of the study.
The Chairman of Board of Directors of the Arab American University Dr. Yousef Asfour inspected the currently implemented development projects in the university and reassured the progress of work.
During his inspection tour Dr. Asfour was accompanied by the University President Professor Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri, the Board of Directors' member Mr. Ghaleb Al- Hafi and the President Assistant for Administration and Financial Affairs Mr. Faleh Abu Arra.
Dr. Sabri Saidam- the Minister of the Ministry of Higher Education announced that the Arab American University has got the accreditation to the Quality Assurance Management Masters Program. This announcement was during his speech at the opening of the fifth Palestinian Conference about modern trends in physics and mathematics that took place at the university.
The team of the Arab American University that consists of 40 students won over the Palestine Polytechnic University team at the “Palestine Challenge” program that was organized by Sharek Youth Forum. This Challenge took place at “Youth Village” land at Kofor Ne’meh Village under the auspices of Wataniya Mobile Co. Activities differ from educational to challenging to entertainment activities in order to enhance the youth abilities in both teams. Youth Village is a place for youth to communicate, meet and organize workshops.
The V.P office for Community Affairs concluded two-day workshop “Youth Role at Political Participation” with the participation of 30 students. This workshop that was trained by Mr. Riyad Shraim and Mr. Fadi Soqyeh was organized with collaboration with Palestinian Peace Coalition and Umniyeh Youth Centre. Bilal Al-Ashqar- the Head of the Graduates Affairs’ Department said that this kind of workshops helps in utilizing students’ personalities and activate their role in their communities. At the end of the workshop, participant students got certificates for their attendance.
The Arab American University participated at the international conference of education and sciences that was held at Bodrum city in Turkey and Dr. Sharif AbuKarsh- the Dean of Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences. Dr. AbuKarsh participated at the conference with a research paper under the name “Using Information Techniques to Improve Administrative Teaching in Palestine: Theory” as he mentioned 5 educational models and 4 techniques that are used in the educational system.
The Arab American University participated at the scientific conference that was held in Florida at the United States under the name “International Academic Conference Business and Finance” to exchange scientific experiences between the participants.
The Arab American University represented by the V.P for Community Affairs Dr. Nizam Diab participated at the 22nd meeting to exchange training offers for students of the Arabian universities. This meeting was held at Fayoum University in Egypt with the participation of 30 universities. Dr. Diab offered some students a chance to get training in Palestine and the Arab American University also had some offers for its students.
