The College of Higher Studies at the Arab American University concluded several workshops targeted a number of faculty members in various disciplines, and students of master's in the program "conflict resolution and development", over three days, in collaboration with the American Institution for Peace (USIP).
The delegation of the American Institution for Peace met the president of the Arab American University Prof. Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri where the two sides discussed ways of joint cooperation to emphasize on consolidation of relations with international institutions in various fields.
The Arab American University hosted a workshop for the development of sports entitled "Towards a national strategy for the development of Palestinian sports ... the reality and ambition", which was organized by the Palestinian Olympic Committee, with the participation of a group of experts and specialists in this field in the Arab world, and in communion with the Gaza Strip via video conferencing technology.
The workshop took place with the presence of the President of the Palestinian Football Federation, and the Olympic Committee chief Gen. Jibril Rjoub, and Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations Mr. Lemke, and the President of the Arab American University Prof. Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri, and the former Jordanian Minister of Youth and Sports Prof. Dr.
From in front of the building of the Colleges of Sciences and Arts, where the thirteen groups of its first university graduates in various disciplines were hosted, the first meeting was launched for the Graduates' Forum of the Arab American University in overjoyed atmosphere between friends and classmates who were absent from each other for years, to be gathered again by the university.
The activities of the forum began with the regiments of graduates and their Deans and teachers meeting together. It included displaying pictures about the university since its inception, how it started, until the time it has reached recently, and they all recalling the college life they lived, the difficulties they faced and the beautiful attitudes they have been through.
The College of Nursing at the Arab American University organized a workshop which targeted the coaches for the students specializing in hospitals and medical centers in order to discuss mechanisms of training and to learn about the educational systems in the specialty. The workshop took place in the presence of the Vice President for Training Affairs Dr. Nizam Diab, and the dean of the faculties of nursing and supportive medical sciences Prof. Dr.
The workshop was opened by Dr. Diab conveying the greetings of University President Prof. Dr.
Prof. Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri, president of the Arab American University announced the opening of an affiliated office for the university in the city of Nazareth in the occupied Palestinian territories in 1948.
He explained that the reason for choosing the city of Nazareth to open the office is due to it being the largest Arab city in the interior territories and its location is in the center of the north and south Arab Sector, as well as it provides ease of access to the people from those areas who seek for the service.
President of the Arab American University Prof. Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri received the deputy director general of the Palestinian police Brigadier General Jihad Al-Masimi during his visit to the University to inspect its achievements, and he discussed enhancing joint cooperation to provide services to the educational process.
Brigadier al-Masimi was accompanied in his visit the Chief Police in Jenin Col. Muhannad Suwwan, and the Director of the Police Academic Affairs Col. Mansour Khozaimah, and the Director of public relations at Jenin police Major Aws Attiyana, and a group from the Palestinian police officers.
The Arab American University welcomed a delegation from the Palestinian territories of 48 who visited the university, for acquaintance.
They were received by the Head of the Public Relations office at the University Mr. Fathi E’mour who gave a detailed explanation about the university and its inception, the programs offered at the bachelor's and master's degrees, noting that the university graduates have distinguished themselves during their engagement in the local, regional and international labor market.
A delegation from the Arab American University participated in a number of activities, seminars and workshops at the University of "Newbrandon Berg" in Germany, as part of the cultural exchange program between the two universities.
The Arab American University delegation was headed by Professor Dr Ayman Yousef, professor of Political Science at the Master's program for Conflict Resolution and Development, and Dr. Mufid Qassoum, and the representatives of students studying in this program Rula Shahwan, Ruba Al-Ghoul, Sari Abdullah and Nibal Al-‘Arda.
The Arab American University received Mr. Majeicoran Saba, Asia Director at the FIBA, accompanied by a delegation from the Palestinian Basketball Federation, who visited the university to inspect the establishments and sports facilities especially the multi-purpose gym.
Mr. Saba was accompanied during his visit by the Head of the Palestinian Basketball Federation Mr. Khader Diab and a group of the Union members, where they were welcomed by Assistant Rector for Administrative and Financial Affairs Mr. Faleh Abu Arra, and the Dean of Faculty of Arts Prof. Dr. Muhammad Dawabsheh, and the Head of the Department of Sports Sciences Dr Samer Abu Eid and the faculty members of the Department of Sports Sciences, and the Director of Public Relations at the University Mr. Fathi Aamour, and the coordinator of the sports facilities Mr.
The President of the Arab American University Prof. Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri, in the presence of his Vice President for Training Affairs Dr. Nizam Diab handed certificates to a group of university employees who enrolled the developmental courses, and the elaboration of administrative cadres which were organized by the Center for Continuing Education at the university.
52 of the employees from various departments in the university had completed three courses and they are: Introduction to Quality Management System 2008:9001; Writing Professional Reports, and Connection & Communication.
The President of the university Prof. Dr. Abu Zuhri, stressed on the importance of these courses in developing the administrative staff, and keep pace with the development and delivery of services to students and to the public, pointing out that the university has always sought to develop its employees through such courses.
